So, Midgar is finally back, and in need of a fixskills.

Unlike before, I think I'm going to move from OTF to the Rift, so I can get some Voln Fu action.

Here's the build I have in mind, at level 93 (Could have sworn I was higher! Oh well.):

140 Armor Use
2x Brawling
1x TWC
2x CM
2x Ambush
2x PF
2x Dodging
50 MIU
24 HP
20 Climbing
25 Swimming
2x Stalking and Hiding
2x Perception

Basically, I plan to use dual sais as weapons, and get my hands on some fusion full plate (probably 4x, since I'm a poor mofo).

That's the same climb/swim I have now, so I figure there was a reason?

The main thing I am unsure about, is if 2x PF is worth it, or if I should go for more dodging, instead. Also, I would like double the amount of magical skills (for spell burst), in case I ever wanted to hunt OTF, but I just don't have the points!

PF is the undervalued, lifesaving skill that too many people don't use enough.

I agree about 2x PF. You could take perception down to 1x. That should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 more ranks (EDIT: of magical skills, that is).

But that cuts into my MB :P

I should be able to manage with 74 magic ranks. Otherwise it's incentive to get my butt to cap and get more ranks.

Assuming the formula on krakii is accurate it's perception skill / 20 = 1 mb, so after 40 ranks that's 20 ranks of perception for 1 mb. aka at level 93 the difference between 1x and 2x is a whopping 4-5 MB

True, but I was also under the assumption that it helped you successfully hit the body part you are trying to ambush.

But I guess now that I think about it, I've forgotten so much about how stuff works, that that might actually not even be true! If so, that's exactly why I wanted to post here!

Yeah, perception plays no role in aiming anything but ranged weapons. I don't know if it ever did factor into aiming melee weapons but lots of people definitely thought it did (myself included).

Get more climbing and swimming for the rift. at Least 30 swimming and 45 climbing will save you some headaches.

Ok, I was kind of wondering about that, thanks.

Another thing I was thinking about, is getting less HP ranks and more MIU or AS, since I doubt I'd have a huge mana drain unless I decided to go crazy with ewave amulets or something. Also, is 50 MIU more than plenty for using magic items, or is it worthwhile to put more into it instead of AS (I'm not much of a scroll user, but it IS cheaper, for spellburst purposes.)?

Ok, so this is what I ended up going with, in the end:

Two Weapon Combat..................| 194 94
Armor Use..........................| 240 140
Combat Maneuvers...................| 290 190
Brawling...........................| 290 190
Ambush.............................| 290 190
Physical Fitness...................| 290 190
Dodging............................| 290 190
Arcane Symbols.....................| 175 75
Magic Item Use.....................| 140 40
Harness Power......................| 58 12
Stalking and Hiding................| 290 190
Perception.........................| 194 94
Climbing...........................| 105 25
Swimming...........................| 105 25

I was not too happy with the fact that the pool removes all your spells in the rift, so I decided to move back to OTF.

And I must say, so far, so good! I would have died 10 times over with my old build, yet I haven't died once yet. About my only problem, anymore, is the griffen screech, since I'm just 94.
