I've been playing for a while now, along with a few other from GS that got addicted.

If you have ever played HoN or DOTA you know how to play LoL for the most part.

It's fun, but usually more fun when you play with a group of 5 friends so you don't get idiot pubs or ranked people.

But it can get repetitive, even if they released Dominion not too long ago.

I only do premade ranked games now, the grind to 30 sucks, especially with the 10 year olds playing.

yeah, I didn't bother doing ranked games since I wasn't level 30 and didn't have all access to the points.

Best thing to do is just play alot of AI games to hit 30 and not deal with that many ratards.

I just hit level 20, my Xin Xhao jungle has markedly improved with 6 of the 9 tier 3 runes. Much much easier - easier ganks too. I really found the times I did the worst were when we did pvp with mostly 30s on our team and I was mid teens in level, our enemies were also mostly 30 and just had such an advantage in runes and masteries. However I learned to just play my Taric, I'm very good with Taric and as long as I have a good lane mate we almost always dominate. Taric isn't nearly as dependent on runes and masteries as an AP nuker, or an AD carry.

I'll be starting my new job tomorrow so I probably won't be around until the weekend. I've been crazy busy getting ready for this, so I haven't exactly followed all of the recent changes. Akali needs a huge nerf to her ultimate. 3 stacks is overpowered. It's literally impossible to get away from her.

I was generally sticking to that, but I think some of my wow friends invited me to a 5v5 summoner's forest and that's where I got raped.

Of course, we were all 5 casters and got trained by melee types. I did fine in the low level stuff, I kept my range no problem and would regularly get legendary in the "Beginner" bracket of the 5v5. Maybe I was just pulled into a higher level of competition and I didn't know what was going on.

I agree with Drisco. Get fed early game, focus on being an assassin late game rather than a typical AP like Brand/Xerath who focus on the AoE initiate.

Depends on how good the other team is IMO, one hard CC and LeBlanc is toast, so squishy. Her real advantage comes from early game denial to other teams, if you can leave lane and kill their carry a few times they are way behind yours in terms of CS. That's very important come end game.

I have won nearly 900 games and have played roughly 1700 games not including ranked. I know what I'm talking about. Leblanc falls off the map hard if she does not snowball. She's known to be an AP counter. Only good to kill and not able to push the map at all. So, in essence, if she's not getting kills, she's not getting anything done. In the games that Drew and I have played, there have been times where there was only 14 kills TOTAL between both teams. That's not nearly enough for LB to snowball.

I'm just going to throw this out there.

Part of the reason why you're losing is you only play one role. Then play the QQ game when someone else struggles. You'll become a much better player when you start to branch out and take on those other roles.

What QQ game? I understand my role, I always support other lanes, and try to Gank when possible. What can I do, when my team feeds the other?
I play all roles, usually whatever the team needs, unless I feel like I want to play something specific.

Police told the Tapei Times they were disgusted when they arrived at the scene to find other gamers were disinterested in the corpse and wanted to continue playing during the investigation.

A picture of the crime scene posted to paper's website shows the corpse with outstretched arms reaching toward the keyboard of a computer.

The body had apparently been in that position since 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, about 10 hours into Chen's gaming session.

No, that's about 0% of the fun. Though I suppose dying from lack of knowledge is way less annoying than dying to lack of skill (positioning, overextending, etc).

Started off with a double kill in my lane then it went down hill from there. Someone on my team went 0-2 in the first few minutes and left so it was 4v5 and I was stuck solo against two people. I had 183 creep kills though which was the most on my team by 60 and 10 over their team. Not sure how that fairs in a real game though.

Low level is such a joke it's hard to get a feeling for your skill level. I was playing with Rimalon who just started playing recently (he's pretty good for a noob) but the level of competition there is really poor. I was cleaning up with ease. That said you're right to not play bots, that's the best way to pick up bad habits and the reason why some level 30s are so lost when they start playing real people. Play people everytime except the first time you try out a champ is a decent rule of thumb if you want to improve your skills the most.

Anyway spiffy, there are several new players now that I've been playing with. I can hop on my smurf and I think we can get a premade five going.

What keyboard did you get? I have a Microsoft Sidewinder X6, the numpad is detachable and you can put it on the right or left hand side. I play with the numpad on my left hand side and use the numpad for all keys. I like it a lot better.

In LoL leavers at least can't join another game instantly or 5mins later. Not sure how HoN works, only played it a few times, and wasn't leaving games to check. And being I only played a few games, I have no clue how it was with higher exp, cause I was stuck with the newbies and low leveled people anyways.

You have a leave percentage in HoN and once you reach a certain percentage you can not play matched games anymore until you play public (which are f'in horrible) to get your percentage back down. I rarely have anyone leave in HoN because of that system and the pause system they have.

At level 30, still had leavers in games, but rarely as much. In Dota and so far in Dota2, someone leaves in 90% of games I play.

In LoL leavers at least can't join another game instantly or 5mins later. Not sure how HoN works, only played it a few times, and wasn't leaving games to check. And being I only played a few games, I have no clue how it was with higher exp, cause I was stuck with the newbies and low leveled people anyways.

Leavers in champ selections have a 6 minute penalty for the first offense. 12 minute penatly for the second consecutive leave in champ selective. I'm not sure what the third is, but I'm sure it's long. If you leave within the game, you're not allowed to make/join another game until the that the player left reaches the end. If the player has enough 'leaver marks', there is a strong chance that the player can be banned for a determined amount of time.

There are 5 players in general. And the remaining teammates don't get any bonus so a leaver does generally screw you (although you can still win 4 v 5, we had an epic one that lasted an hour and twenty minutes just recently).

It's the same token for LoL. Denying is a whole new game. Knowing when to CS and knowing when hit your opponent while he's trying to CS is key to winning your lane.

Malphite + Ziggs + Gankplank ult was pretty annoying. Also, my guy is only level 7, so we play what we can pick.

Fizz generally doesn't go lifesteal. After the nerfs the only way to build him is nukey with a lot of AP.

If you're going to life steal, you would go with spell vamp. AP is the only real good way to go with Fizz. Since he can be easily countered now, he really isn't too much of a viable option anymore. Rabadon's Cap, Lich Bane, Will of the Ancients.

I wouldn't say they ripped people off. They had IceFrog's permission to copy DotA. Charging for it was to support development which ended up being a bad decision. They should have opted for micro-transactions like LoL did originally.

Don't ever build thornmail on singed until your 6th item. Frozen heart and randuins omen are just sooo much better and randuin's builds out of a GP10. Randuin's will let you escape sometimes even when a whole team is chain CCing you.

Played Amumu last night as jungle. He's pretty solid and fairly easy to play. You just have to land bandage toss and curse of the sad mummy at the right times and you're set.

I ended up going 10/4/18, our bottom lane was owning face so I just kept ganking top and mid lanes and harrassing their 'jungle' master yi. At one point I snuck in, caught Yi at his red buff lizard and killed him, stole the red buff and then turned to killed their Katarina mid as they came over to try to help. <insert evil cackle here> Double Kill!

They weren't that good, but it was fun!

Lux is amazing. She was first champ I picked up on as well. I was like what? Fucking rainbow lasers? SIGN MY ASS UP. She's still good even this season with most non-assassin APs getting dumped on due to the kiting potential and working well in poke comps but, I hope they fix league of bruisers 2.0 a bit so she's in an even better place. Also the jungle changes they kind of hinted at carry and more AP junglers being viable so...if that's a thing. Lux jungle ganks would be pretty fun.

Btw, make sure you either cancel it or keep using direct deposit. In December you start getting charged $1 a month if you don't direct deposit something into the account every month, or manually put in over $500.

I was just reading the new support item changes on reddit for s4, and they look pretty sweet. Even though I do like playing support, I'm looking forward to being able to do more than being an aura/cc/ward kitchen tray for my team.

I'm also already theorizing on places that would be very good to have a pink ward, where it could be defended without too much trouble. I think tri-bush near dragon would be a big spot to control, and of course the river close to any lane would be solid. Blue/red buff to give your junglers vision control. It's going to be interesting to see.

With the Heimer overhaul they did recently you can get him and all his skins together as a package. I'm pretty sure the package is still there under the 'bundles' of the market section. I jumped at it since that skin was one I'd wanted pretty bad but had no way to get it otherwise.

They even have the snowheimer skin too as part of the package.

I've played a couple new games. I'm the bronze-maybe-silver level player with gold/plat/diamond friends, so my experience isn't always the norm, but I found that the new Support items let me keep up fairly decently. I had enough gold early on for warding needs as well as working toward boots/aegis/etc. Once I got a sightstone, I found myself in the entirely new position of deciding what sort of real gear I wanted to buy (side note - a blue sightstone now lets you drop all 3 wards that you're allowed. There's no longer any rush to upgrade it to ruby). This flustered the hell out of me, honestly. Where I'm always in over my head in games, I'm usually happy to be a ward vendor/cc machine and little else when I support. Being an actual contributor in that role was a bit scary. Given the relative difference in skill levels, the fact that I could keep up and even become useful later on as support says to me that the items have got to be OP.

Jungle is the other role I play, when I'm feeling ambitious and want to do useful things rather than just babysit the ADC until he's got enough gear to be scary. I only played one game, but I was REALLY not happy with it. I play a lot of Maokai, and tend to wander the map handing kills to laners and clearing camps as I stumble across them. I don't exclusively do one or the other, just sort of putter around with both. I've never had a lot of gold that way, but usually enough to keep up fairly decently. I felt like it took me FOREVER to get enough gold to buy my spirit stone. I found myself ignoring lanes and farming just to get enough gold for it, which is not my thing. Once I got it, I felt like I had to ignore more lanes in favor of keeping stacks from capping. Any time it hit 80 I got that antsy "Oh noes I'm wasting stuff" feeling. Do not want. On that particular champion, the new jungle item forced me into a play style I don't like. If I was any good on something like Shyvana, who can clear the jungle and still have time to go harass lanes, I might be a lot happier.

From what I hear, the other jungle items are not so hot. Every analysis I've seen of Wriggle's Lantern says it's nowhere near worth the gold no matter what you do, ignore it. Elder Lizard is good for risky, snowbally types (Kha'zix and such) but unless you're going to fly out of nowhere and assassinate people, the lack of defense is rough. Spectral Wraith seems decent for AP junglers, but again not crazy OP. No matter which you get, there's still the fact that using Gp10 runes and afk-ing in a bush for the first 10 minutes gets you almost as much gold as farming/ganking well does during that time with real runes (I'm not just complaining, it's been tested).

Overall: Support = \o/, Jungle = :(

My boyfriend got me into trying the game and I'm enjoying myself thus far. I'm at account level 6 and it looks like my play style favors marksmen and adc. I'm still new at this, though, so any tips for the n00b would be appreciated!

Quick League Newb Tips! Know that I wouldn't have typed all of this out for most people, but I've benefited in GS from a lot of Nilandia's work, so I hope to return the favor!

1. Fastest way to 30 is playing against AI. Fastest way to competence is playing against other players. Mix the two when you're beginning to get a feel for how to play the champs and how you're progressing. This step is also necessary to develop the thick skin necessary to survive in solo queue. You're going to get flamed at when you're beginning. Don't let it bother you too much, but don't entirely ignore it either. It can be a powerful motivator for some to get better.

2. Don't spend your precious beginning IP on champs! Use the free champion rotation and learn a variety of champions and roles. This is important because later on if you're an AD main and you see a Garen coming at you, if you've played as him before you know the kind of pain he can dish out and how to avoid it. Also you develop different skills quicker playing certain roles (Map awareness as jungler/support, last hitting as ADC, roaming as Mid, etc ...).

3. Save your IP until you're level 20 and can buy Tier 3 runes (GS equivalent of 4x equipment). DEFINITELY don't waste your IP on tier 2 runes. There can be a case made for Tier 1, but it's really not much of a boost and they'll just be abandoned in the long run. Ignore the mithril/ora/imflass. Go for the vultite!

4. Be cognizant of what's going on around you. Idolize people who consistently play better than you (friends, pros (twitch.tv is a good site for watching pros play)) and try to emulate the good parts of their play style. Recognize when you're getting beat and why they're beating you. This is the real reason we're supposed to play normals against other players, but it usually gets lost in the desire to win or not lose.

5. Probably the most important tip I can give a new player is play with your friends whenever you can. Internet strangers can be mean and scare the newer players away. You're at our age, so I'm fairly certain you don't have aspirations to be a pro player. There's no need to train by yourself in secret and emerge from your solo-queued training chamber like a Super Saiyan. You're going to have the most fun playing with people you know.

There are 5 I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to add Ablatio in game if you want to play some AI!
