Rules for Posting Trades

I've looked at the Merchant thread for an answer to this, but I didn't find rules regarding Trading out-of-game items for in-game items.

Is this frowned upon, against the rules, and/or stupid? Because I'm looking to avoid all of the above.

(e.g. wanting to trade an ipad 2 for a old wizzie + coin or cash)

If its going to happen, you're going to have to mail the ipad 2 before you receive anything. You can also likely forget about the plus coins or cash options.

Both of you are right. I'd been toying with the idea, but really, it's not looking plausible.

I don't know the value of old wizards (though I could probably find out easy enough), and I'm wary about risking a brand new iPad against the promise of account/transfer info. Especially knowing, as Phantasm pointed out, I'd have to ship before I get anything in return.

Ah well, guess I'll finally open the iPad, and keep looking around for a wizzie to pay for with cash/coins.

You'd have a much easier time of it if you sold the iPad on Craigslist or such and then just used the money to buy the wizard, IMO.

I'd thought of that too. I'd probably have to mark it down too much to sell it though since I lost the receipt.

No kidding, I'd be all over this sort of trade but I don't have a wizard high enough level.

heh... now I don't know what to do. I hate options! They make me befuddled.

I don't want to open it if there's a chance I can trade it. Though, I still wouldn't know how to handle a trade off with this sort of thing. I'll probably just open it and buy a wizard with cash/coin, or try to sell it on craigslist without the receipt, or figure out a way to trade....

I'd lean toward keeping the iPad.

One is a bizarre fringe item that will give you almost no use in real life.

The other is a wizard.

The choice is clear.

It will all come down to finding either a middleman both parties know and trust or of course trading with someone you actually know and trust. Tough deal for most people to make I'd imagine

I agree. I think the trade would be the hardest to figure out.

In any case, I opened it... and it's awesome! Though at this point, it's just a toy... I don't see a practical use for it yet since I have a laptop that's just as portable.
