Short sword for Darkstone Castle

i dunno if this is the correct folder to post...

been a while since i enter darkstone castle for hunts, i used to grab one of them short sword from the kobolds nearby before i go in, last night i shattered 3 short swords in a row, if i am to get a magical metal short sword will it shatter? i also see a d(roll) for when we do the prying, what stats & such gives you a better roll?

I believe it can shatter any weapon, so don't use a nice one. At least that's what I was told. I've never tested.

Also, it's largely based off of your STR stat. Wizard strength, surge of strength, etc all help with the roll.

Even with maxed strength (giantkin) i've still had multiple shatters in a row. I have heard that magical weapons won't shatter but it's not something i've ever tested.

I have been using a vultite shortsword for a while. I never break it, but I still experience RT. I've heard that this is the one roll that accounts for breakage. Please prove me wrong.

RT is determined by edged weapon skill and strength stat, I believe.

I never had RT with THW, but now that I do OHB I'm pretty sure I got like 15 seconds last time.

My rogue with OHE gets no RT, but she still breaks short swords. My ranger has no OHE, 30 seconds rt. I'm going to try with some magical swords next time I go back in there.

My empath doesn't have OHE and doesn't experience RT while my ranger, who also lacks OHE, gets 30 second RT. Both break swords now and then.

my wizard without trainin' in OHE gets a 30 second rt, breaks normal short sword like crazy, my glaes one still in the making, will be trying that in like 45-50 minutes more...

i hate being short...

magic can and will shatter, use a crappy mithril if you're going to keep testing, lost a nice one once on that damn castle...yay voln tapestry

guess the myth is busted LOL, anyway shattered a steel one, the glaes one still prying fine after 10 tries, will update...
