So, every so often, after maybe 20-30 minutes in game, Lich (Ruby?) crashes with an error message stating the runtime caused the program to terminate. I get the follow from Vista:

Application Name: rubyw.exe
Application Version: 1.8.6.0
Application Timestamp: 48a0d73f
Fault Module Name: msvcrt-ruby18.dll
Fault Module Version: 1.8.6.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 48a0d73e
Exception Code: 40000015
Exception Offset: 000267f4
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.4
Locale ID: 1033

I'm running Vista, obviously, and I'm tethered to my Android (not that it should matter)

This is on an HP desktop. My other Win 7 machine runs fine, as well as another Vista laptop.

Can't figure out why this desktop is crashing so often...

Vista, really? Upgrade that crap. :tumble:

If this is your "dedicated" GS machine, install Linux on that box. Vista has serious problems, and if you are using Vista Home Edition it is even worse. The best way to cure this ill is to either upgrade the OS or switch to Ubuntu. Both options will be less painful than trying to fix the Vista issue.

My second laptop runs Ruby fine on Vista. It won't run SGE or Wizard FE though unless you change some automatic Vista crappy settings but yeah Ruby, no problem.

I re-imaged it and swapped some hardware and it seems to be doing alright. Not a dedicated machine, just an old crapper I idle at work with. I'm running ubuntu at home.
