Examples!

How do I make a float?

It is easy. We use all acts and smiles as we walk into each room.

act walks into the area next to a giant kraken on a flat wagon, its arms flailing wildly as it "swims" up the parade route. This menacing creature looks to be very angry as it comes straight for you! As it gets closer, you notice it is dragging something behind it with three of it's legs. Though as it starts to move past you, you see it's not being dragged, but one of it's arms is tied to the front of a second display. It's other two legs are being held by a burly human dressed in a bandana, a red and white striped shirt, and ripped blue colored pants with a knife between his teeth. The human is actually steering the display by pulling on either arm of the kraken, and the kraken doesn't look too happy.

act walks along the side of the float and watches the spectators reactions as it comes closer and they see the display is made to look like a ship, with a smaller ship connected to it's side by ropes and a gangplank. The individuals on each ship are at war with each other, the main ships crew being driven back from the gangplank by men in dark clothing, mainly blacks and reds. As the driver steers past the parade route, the crew gets it's footing and begins capturing the invaders, tying them up on the bed of their ship.

act turns to hold her arm out again, a grin on her face as one of the crewmen pushes a banner off the side of the boat which states, "Cairnfang Manor, For a better 'Haven." The pirates ship is then cut from the first, and rolls away from the float as the crew of the main ship turns to salute the crowd, each with one foot planted atop one of the bound invaders. At the back of the main ship, a wizard creates a ball of fire that launches into the second boat, causing it to erupt into a dazzling display of flares of many colors.

act walks back to the enflamed boat and grabs an end of a rope, pulling it as she walks away waving. The fizzling out boat is drug to an alley, where a small team makes sure the fire is put out, and the charred remains are cleaned up. With crew cheering loudly, the kraken pulls the main ship down the route, the bound invaders on their feet and waving along with the rest of the crew. You notice another boat being pulled from a side street and quickly tied back to the main ship as it moves to the next block.

Second example (more simple):

Act sits in the center of a large paper oyster shell. At her feet rests a large pearl. She waves at the crowds with a wide smile. Beautiful paper windflowers in a multitude of colors adorn the float.
