I have a 29th level (almost 30th) DE Sorcerer on mothballs, and I'm going to fixskill him to hunt with a rogue friend. I'm considering the following:

8 Armor
30 Shield
30 Blunt Weapons (I have a decent morning star handy, and I like the DF)
20 Physical Fitness
20 Climb
20 Swim
20 Perception
20 Survival

30 Arcane Symbols
30 Magic Item Use
70 Harness Power (Can't have too much mana)
30 Elemental Mana Control
24 Spiritual Mana Control

25 Minor Elemental
20 Minor Spirit
15 Sorcerer

I plan on leaning heavily on Corrupt Essence and Mind Jolt to control Mobs, and whacking them with my morning star to contribute to the kill. The rogue will take care of legging and headshots. I'm also going to master CoL for the extra AS and DS.

Any suggestions for tweaks, changes?

If you really want 425... you should be finished with your 400s for a while. Drop 100s to 103, though your DS will suffer more than most sorcerer's that level since your focusing on offensive powers. Bump your 700s up as much as you can.

By now you shouldnt be considering going blunt/shield, unless you hate the runestaff route. I imagine your AS is shit even with 425. You're spending a TON of points to be different, which could affect your survivability.

And yes, you can have too much mana. Those 40 extra ranks are only giving you 40 mana, which may seem like a lot now, but you're neglecting a sorcerer's main strength which is casting. Your CS would be much much higher if you put those points into spells, and you'd lose less mana as a whole.

I think you'll find yourself hitting a wall in the near future with that build. If you are only using that character for shits and giggles and not playing it seriously, then do whatever you have fun with.

Axhinde is right. If you're going blunt, I also recommend a mace over a morning star for purely crush damage. I would also bring your HP down to 1x since you're not planning to be a pure caster.

You're going to have to rely heavily on scrolls for AS buffs, and you'll probably want to reduce your 100s down so you can get 430 for the additional DS it affords. Your best defensive spell will be 712 since you won't be able to use 102 due to swinging, so definitely concentrate on your Sorcerer circle for that benefit.

Also consider that you can use 715 in various stances to affect a critter's DS. If you use clumsy curse or itchy curse, that will definitely help you. Still, it's going to be a tough road to hoe and TP intensive. Good luck!
