Speaking to you, Droughtman says, "That is a special Erithi weapon."

a narrow-bladed pale blue katana inked with religious sigils

You glance at a narrow-bladed pale blue katana inked with religious sigils. The weapon is exceptionally crafted by skilled hands. The katana is polished and graceful. Curiously, written upon it in flowing Erithian script is the name "Mist". Truly, this weapon was constructed by a master craftsman.

>read katana
In the Common language, it reads:
Mist

+27 - imflass - weighs 4 can be lightened - you can prod it to turn off the show

>rub katana
You reverently lay your katana across both palms and bow to it. You weigh it within your hands for a moment then grasp it with one hand and sight down its length, carefully assessing it. Satisfied, you nod and return it to your side.

>wave katana
You raise your katana overhead and then launch a vicious slash downward, pulling the blade back up, then slash in the other direction

>raise katana
Moving into a back stance, with your front leg straight while resting your weight upon your back leg, you raise your katana so that it is parallel to your right cheek. Ever so slowly, as you release a steady breath, you move your left hand, with only two fingers raised, across the length of the blade and hold the position with perfect poise.

>turn katana
Slipping into a back stance, you hold your katana with both hands at an angle above your left shoulder. With precision-perfect grace you move the blade into a gentle arc through the air while taking an enormous step forward and end the move with the blade resting by scant inches above your right shoulder.

>bow katana
You deftly raise your katana overhead, and then deftly pace around in a circle in slow, measured movements. At the top of each of the quarters, you bow respectfully, followed by a vicious slash through the air.

If this was one of those racial weighted weapons would that show up in the loresong, or do I need to find an erithian warrior to assess it? Any information on the value or any more tests I should run will be greatly appreciated!

Tgara scripts. Prod, I think, to hide the show. Should just be +27 hcw otherwise, but getting it assessed is a good idea anyway.

Any chance it's sanctified with all those sigils on it?

nope, not sanctified :( If anyone knows a warrior that could help me assess it, please send them my way! I'll probably put this up for auction soon.

I received some help from a warrior who got zero reads on this katana after several tries but was able to assess heavy crit weighting on a different katana right away. What should I do now? How would I be able to find out if this was one of the racial weapons? Thanks for any advice!

Get an Erithi to assess it.

Those sylvan/halfing bows have a script that lets you know.

I don't think it is though. I think the 'special' part is just the Tgara scripts, which are pretty rare these days.

You don't always get a read on the first try when assessing. Also, if it's not assessable you usually get a message saying so, rather than the RT and message that you don't see anything of note. As for racial weapons, a bard should be able to answer that question for you.

Have the warrior try assessing it in OHE and THW modes if they are able. If it's set to a one handed grip and the warrior only has THW training, they might not get a read on it.
