So heres what I want to do.. stop me if I'm being retarded.
1X Pt
drop harness power to 101 ranks and leave it there till cap
drop earth lore completely.
24 ranks of air lore and 1X fire.
I dont skin anything.. survival was just a throw back to hunting in the pinefar area. Any reason to keep that up? worth the points to 1X FA and .5X survival and start skinning?
On perception.. I know this is an ongoing debate but I wonder how people feel about 1X.
I have no problems hunting as is, only thing thats really starting to bug me is getting blasted by CMs hunting bandits. I'm hoping 1x PT might help that.. is it worth picking up a few ranks in CM? When it comes to OTF is it worth the points in PT and CM?

I cannot help with your initial question, however.
<3 Meos! It was nice to see him back.

I strongly suggest 1x in PF. This is your primary defense against CM attacks and they only become more prevalent from where you are (were).
I generally hunt with Tonis bolt and then acid. I skipped the fire, just kept 24 air lore ranks.
Definitely a good time to drop Harness Power. You should do just fine while hunting and leeching mana.
I also did 1x in perception, no real reasoning behind it except I like to be able to see who is around me. Not sure on this but, some have mentioned that 402 helps with maneuver attacks, perhaps perception plays into this? I'm not sure.
I prefer to beable to enchant, so I skipped any skinning skills and kept 900's and 500's at 1x. 400's are about .75x.
Very good hunter, probably wouldn't die as much if I wasn't so concerned with obtaining as much lewtz as I can get! Lewtz weighs me down and maneuvers kill me.
Hope that helps!

4 for fulls, 8 for reinforced. 6 isn't a good number here.

You want 100, not 101.
1X Pt
On perception.. I know this is an ongoing debate but I wonder how people feel about 1X.
Both of these help with maneuver defense. All of my characters, including 2 wizards, are 1x in both of these by 40 and stay there. (Some of the chars were a bit below that early on for TP constraints.)
drop earth lore completely.
24 ranks of air lore and 1X fire.
I don't think it's worth the points to go more than 1x in total lores until sometime postcap. As for what lores to get, that's purely RP in my book. They're nice, but not required. I like 24 EL:Air for bolting 505, 1-5 in each EL:Fire and EL:Water for some splash to 908/907 (along with a couple of ranks of MoC to go with those), but your lore choices aren't going to make-or-break you unless you're trying for a Immo build (which I assume you're not with MjE that low.)
survival was just a throw back to hunting in the pinefar area. Any reason to keep that up?
Only for RP purposes.
worth the points to 1X FA and .5X survival and start skinning?
Not in my mind.
is it worth picking up a few ranks in CM
For the cost, I put that off until I was post-cap (and am still not to 1x). CMAN isn't a bad thing, but you have to get a few ranks before it seems to be worthwhile and that's a lot of magic skills to give up in my mind.
Thanks for the info guys. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this a couple days ago. I think I'm going to train up to Brig for armor. But with the change in skills and tweaking my bandit technique, Bandit CMs are only a minor inconvenience instead of a death sentence. I am a 1X PT believer. I miss my 300 mana..

I think I'm going to train up to Brig for armor.
Well, in order to hit the minimum of 12% spell hindrance wearing brig for your MjE and Wizard circle spells, you need 130 ranks in armor. Which is more than you'll be able to train. If you don't mind spell hindrance (which as a wizard how could you not?), but really want something better for armor...get 35 ranks and shoot for cuirb. You'll have 7%, but it may help?
Thats 490 PTPs or 980 MTPs. Thats a lot of magic skills to give up.

15 Ranks to train off hindrance in MjE and Wizard circle? More than I thought.
Didn't realize brig was that tough for wizards.. My cleric doesn't hve a problem with brig. Oh well.. Full leathers it is. There is no reason to have over 4 ranks for fulls?

Nope. 4 ranks to train off the maneuver penalty, thats it.

are doubles not the way to go for a wizard then? I only see people focusing on fulls, but I thought for casters doubles were the way to go. I could and usually am totally wrong though. And if so what rank requirement for that? This little wizard wonders.

In order to reach the base hindrance of 4% for Major E and Wizard spells, you'd need 15 ranks of Armor Use. That's 210 PTPs or 420 MTPs, which is a lot for not that big of a difference, I think. The 4% hindrance would get you killed far more than the protection offered by the doubles. I had a Wizard in his 90s and failing a spell meant death more than it should.

Okay good to know, guess I have some 5x doubles to trade then...I only need 1 more armor rank which will be nice at least for fulls.
