One of his many reported sightings was a few years ago at a screening of The Departed somewhere in California. Probably should've been hiding outside of the country.

Crazy. My dad called me as I was driving into work this morning and talked to me for a half hour about it! My mother grew up in Somerville so they are both really interested in the whole thing.

Ironic that he was seen at a screening for the Departed!? I didn't know that!

Kinda fucked up that he turned informant and then after 20 years of being an informant they turn on him and (albeit half assed) charge him

I never heard of this guy until I moved to Boston a decade ago. I've been hearing about Whitey sightings ever since, and I have to admit a thrill when I heard they'd caught him. I'm amazed they got him, since it was almost a foregone conclusion at this point that the FBI didn't want to catch him.
