Ok... I don't really mind conference calls because I don't have to travel.. but really..

They suck.

They last WAY too long.

The attendees NEVER FUCKING USE THE MUTE BUTTON.

Someone ALWAYS puts the call on hold.. giving everyone the opportunity to hear their on hold music.

So in summary... conference calls suck.

:stupid:

I work from home, travel often, and yes... I am on conference calls frequently... in fact I'm on one now.

I should have been a pharmacist. Get paid big bucks to sling drugs legally.

Conference calls or meetings of any sort are usually prolonged or the source of great irritation at the hands of idiots that don't have a clue.

I'm probably unemployed as of my last conference call thus negating the need for this ticket to Houston.

6 month paid vacation? Thanks.

Fucking idiots.

Ok.. even WORSE than putting someone on hold is the idiot who attempts to hold an entire conversation in his office while on a call.

Hit the MUTE button, asshole.

How fucking distracting and rude.

We do a lot of them here at the office. It makes the communication between us (the architects), the engineers, and the clients much more clear when discussed at once. And since we do some out of state business like like baltimore, lots in long island, right now were doing some california stuff and something in the caribean travel isn't always an option. In the end I think the usefulness outweighs all the minor annoyances of them.

Yup, its a specialized degree that offers a very high end competitive salary, from working in hospitals to retail pharmacies... and its an occupation that doesnt require huge amounts of travel. If I were going to do the college thing all over again thats the direction I would travel.

Ugh...my boy was on a conference call while we was driving from a restaurant in Boston to our friends house in Quincy. I mean, sheesh, give a man a break, he was out trying to have fun, not working. Actually, it was just the fact that we all had to stay super quiet so he can hear the convo.
