I just spent a week downloading a movie off BT and the volume is extremely low. I need to turn my volume all the way up to hear it. Any solutions?

That's what happens with 99.99999999999999999% of ripped/bootleg movies.

Download TMPGenc if you don't already have it. It's a video editing software. When you start it, the wizard will start up, do the following:

Page
1/5 pick Video-CD NTSC
2/5 browse for your video file
3/5 Other Settings -> Audio -> Audio Edit -> Change Volume
4/5 Just skip over this one
5/5 Set the output file name and start.

Sorry Bob, I thought your super l33tness would have taken you to Google.

Okay, what the fuck is this program supposed to be doing for me? Apparently it encodes videos so they can be played as VCDs, but I don't see how this helps the volume, and it's going to take 9 hours to encode A Mighty Wind.

Way to suck at being a good program.

The point is he would have to pay SOMEthing for it, and that just won't do. ;)

It's going to take me 40 minutes to raise the volume on CD1 of Once Upon A Time In America. Shit, I've got to do this for the other 3 CD's too. Are you sure this is going to work?

Bob, why the FUCK would you have A Mighty Wind on your computer man?

No.

But I don't see anyone else jumping up to help you with your situation.

Except advice you got to go rent it yourself or don't download it.

Why don't you take a small video file and try to raise the audio with this program. if it works, do the larger files. Or, just take your current file, cut it into a 1-2 minute clip, and try that clip.

Yeah, change volume, great, I did that. BUT THE FUCKING PROGRAM IS FOR BURNING VCDS AND TAKES A LONG DAMN TIME TO DO.

Bob's to-do list:
1) Find a program that will increase the volume quickly.
2) Post it (with a link to a free download, of course)
3) STFU

http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html

Start VirtualDub and load in your converted DivX file.

From the "Video" menu, select "Direct Stream Copy".

From the "Audio" menu, select "Full Processing Mode".

From the "Audio" menu, select "Volume", check the "Adjust volume of audio channels" option, and you can use the slider to change the level of audio.

Press the "Preview Output" button and listen to the audio - if it isn't loud enough, go back to the previous step and increase the amplification level.

From the "Audio" menu, select "Compression" and select "MPEG Layer-3" and the same or lower bitrate/attributes (eg. 128 kBit/s, 48000 Hz, Stereo) you used earlier to make the DivX movie.

From the "File" menu, select "Save AVI" to save the AVI to include the normalized audio. This shouldn't take too long as only the audio is re-encoded/compressed - the video will be left alone.

Looks like someone just got served.

Oh and btw, the volume level reaches 985% of the original. A lozer is yuo.

I just realized why my movies were so Bobmuhthol.. I never put a good sound card in this computer. Either way, I used the program, encoded Pulp Fiction in under 20 minutes and the volume is 10x higher.

See, now if you'd done your research in the beginning, you wouldn't have looked like such an asshole.
