Current Weapon: 5x forged golvern battle axe with guiding light flares
Current Armor: 6x MBP
Here's the deal. Other than getting into full plate at around 70 I don't really have any other goals and I'm not really sure what I should be aiming for. I'm also not sure what about my weapon now. I love the battle axe but I just got a glaes claid from the treasure hopper this morning and I've had a few people tell me that would be a better choice. Right now I'm hunting in stone valley and stronghold if that helps any.

What do you think is your biggest weakness?
1 - I'd say, be sure to get up to 120. You should be able to easily by lvl 55.
2 - After that, get your armor where you're comfortable.
3 - Then you have two choices:
a) more CMAN for a more physical build and a bit higher AS, or
b) more paladin spell ranks for higher CS and a AS that is still good just not quite as high as with more cman ranks. (1611 gets boosted by more spell ranks)

I would like my CS to be a little bit higher for 1615 and 1630. Eventually down the road I'd like to pick up lores for 1605 and zealot.

Personally, on my paladin, I went with high paladin spell ranks, 25 religion, and 24 summoning. This allowed me to nearly auto ward like level creatures using 1615/1630 around level 67. After the 3 seconds of soft RT setup, I would smash the head with a standard 5x SWCW Golvern morning star. I had to sacrifice shield use and dodge but I felt 1615/1630 was a much better defense. Because the creature was kneeling, they very rarely E/B/P'd me, which was also annoying when I would aim at the head and get blocked.
Positioning (http://www.play.net/gs4/info/combat_guide/factors.asp#position)
Characters can maneuver themselves into four positions: lying, sitting, kneeling, and standing. Some spells and maneuvers can force a character into a lying or kneeling position, significantly hindering that character's ability to defend. Of all weapon practitioners, only crossbow archers benefit by kneeling, adding +30 to their attack.
A character that is not standing up will have his or her DS and full offensive AS reduced by 50 points (unless using a crossbow). Sitting or kneeling will reduce chances to evade, block and parry by 25%. Being prone (lying down) reduces these chances by 50%.

What do you have the summoning ranks for?

24 = 102 skill = 2 more targets with 1630.

Sweet. I think that will be the next thing I work towards. Now about weapon choice. 3x claid or 5x (and further enchantable) battle axe.?

It depends on what you hunt. However, if you are hunting creatures with crit padding (bowels, stronghold, thanatoph, wehntoph, grimswarm), I think flares are a very bad choice. Creatures with crit padding will reduce the crit rank of the flare proportional to their crit padding. That is to say, against a Grimswarm Warlord (something absurd like 30 points of crit padding), and over hundreds of flares from 1012, I very rarely saw any impact crit ranks over 3 or 4 (I forget the exact number). The outlier flares with crit ranks higher then 3 or 4 can be attributed to the randomness of crit padding past somewhat. Also, if I had to guess, every 5 points of crit padding reduces a the crit rank severity from a weapon flare -- totally anecdotal.

This is me at either 54 or 55. Hunt minos self spelled with a 3x claid and wear a 6x mbp. Cakewalk.
Solid build, you shouldn't have any problems hunting with that build.
You planning on going a more physical route to crank up redux, or eventually going to get up to 120 for defense?

Physical. Getting into full plate is my next goal, as well as ambush training for aimed swings.
