Anyone playing it? I picked up the Hero Edition as I didn't pre-order the game and wanted the DLC. It also came with a cool messenger satchel that I actually plan on using and a few other neat items. I liked the first game. It was simple and fun, but there was definitely room for improvement. The game has gotten very solid reviews, so I have high expectations. I'm curious to hear of what you guys made of it.
Infamous had the unfortunate fate of coming out at the same type as Prototype for me. While Infamous looked cool and had potential I found the movement so limiting compared to Prototype, in Prototype you could leap and glide all over Manhattan. In Infamous you were stuck to running on rails more or less and climbing a building took a long ass time. It was more "realistic" but the guy is shooting electricity, I'd prefer he could move faster.
That said I'll probably give 2 a try to see if they improved it.
It got panned pretty much from the reviews I've read.
It doesn't look all that good to me either.

Doing quite well in reviews, actually.

It scored an 84 metacritic. That's pretty decent. I've seen scores I don't agree with before though.

Loved the first one, but this'll be a renter for me at some point.
Also, I rented Prototype and absolutely hated it.

Interesting. To me Prototype is the far superior game and probably the best free roam action game ever as far as combat and movement systems go. Story was relatively generic but they mostly are (in fact Crysis 2 basically just straight up copied it).
Prototype was BADASS!!!!
The most fun character to play, I think ever.
That's not to say I think the game was as good as the character. It was good though.

Prototype's story wasn't great compared to Infamous', but both were fun. Nothing quite like jumpkicking a helicopter out of the sky. Infamous was a lot prettier, but it was a console exclusive, so that's not surprising.
Anyway, the second one's story and moral choices aren't quite as good as the first's, but the gameplay is better. They added a lot of neat charge-based supers, more travel powers (although you get the best one pretty late in the game), etc. You can also enter the custom mission editor at will and use it to travel much faster than you could have on foot, and then exit out in the new spot.

I didn't like prototype nearly as much as Infamous. The city and people in it felt lifeless. The dialogue was flat and the story kinda meh. I did enjoy the level of power your character has right from the very beginning. It definitely had more of an "arcade" feeling to it.
Infamous 2 was great. Some aspects of the story weren't quite as good as the first, but others were much better. The graphics were awesome, the city was well built, and the mechanics were a bit more realized. I didn't bother much with the User Generated Content. played about 5-7 missions and decided not to bother. That being said, I really enjoyed the game.
