Summer Trials

Hey, Rhavnos here. Or as I'm known OOCly and in Plat, Myke.

Just wanted to toss up a post to say that Platinum Summer Trials are coming in July and August (just two months this year) and since they're free trials it'd be awesome to see some of you give it a try and just poke in for awhile.

A lot of things about Plat are really improved these days, which brought me back from a 3 year hiatus. I've been having a blast with some of the new folks I didn't recognize and the staff has been incredible. Naionna is really doing a great job with Plat and GM's like Wyrom really make it a great time.

All that said if anyone is considering the trial and wants to ease their way in with some assured RP, get ahold of me. I have a large number of characters and at least one is very very willing to get people caught up on the current goings-on regarding the Dark Prophecy (Crimson Moon storyline) or the rumblings in the wizard guild (Seperate storyline about tomes of power and potential betrayals in the wiz guild, bandits and stuff).

Even better, if you have a character concept I can help get some clothing/gear ready for you, or work with you for RP to help you get established faster and dive right into the fun.

Turns out I've gotten a few responses based on this so I figured I'd bump it. The offer stands and I'm more than happy to answer questions.

To pre-emptively address some of the common questions; predictably night time is the most populated times with anywhere from 20-30 people around. During the early-early morning like 4am-ish there tends to only be 1-3 people around so you need to be more careful. In between it fluxuates anywhere between the two but generally I'd say about 16-18 people is common.

Yes, we have droppage, no, it's not really the big deal it seems like it would be. Prolonged weapon rescues are rare, we've got enough capped or high-level rescuers that a weapon being out of reach for someone is a non-issue. Generally if you lose it during an invasion GM's are great about returning it right after they're not busy. A lot of people would like to see it turned off since it's really just sort of pointless these days.

The portal system is great, it lets us quickly get anywhere in the realms for the fee of about 25k a month (your first ticket is only 2.5k however), so rescues in foreign lands aren't such an issue and you're free to play wherever you want.
