What was the biggest thing you had to do with COL, money wise or time consuming?

Personnaly, I had once 6-7 gold lockpicks.

Booh.

get an absurd amount of skeleton bones before I had first aid training. Was during 5am-ish so I couldn't find people to open the graveyard gate.

AHAHAHA that gotta sux.

And I had to get, once, those RARE dark orc... Man, I decided to pay 2k per just because there was like once per 30 minutes.

7 gold lockpicks.
13 crystal amulets.
19 spider legs.

That about sums up my hard times. The rest were relatively easy.

12 thrak skins, then 11 chain hauberks. I had to make multiple trips to and from the armory to get the hauberk. Then I got slapped with a three hour wait.

At least I'm mastering in about an hour and a half.

The worst I ever had to do (that I remember) was 12 troll skins. Where this became a problem is that the three characters on my account that were old enough to kill them can't skin worth anything and my skinning-talented ranger was just young enough to get the snot beaten out of her trying to hunt them... forget the 4 or 5 trained character that actually needed them.

That was the only time I broke down and asked for help. Usually I'm far too stubborn to do that!

i have once had a 512 minute wait, never really had any large gathering though, spent like 2 hours looking for clues in the Vaalor cemetary (before some helpful guides were made)

The gold lockpicks since they are 2.5k a piece, I got them a few times with my rogue. And silver wands with my mage, but not as bad, I got em duped, and then used them to hunt before gifting them.

None of this is at all difficult in the nations since its all sold there, Sol is more difficult since you have to go to the Landing for a few things, robes, backpacks, etc.

You shoulda went to the abandoned inn in the landing, they shop up way faster there, then out the west road.

Not to mention with the aide of a wizard you could of cut that nearly in half by having them dupe silver wands for you.

Not I, but a friend of mine in Vaalor had to get 10 ruby amulets before the change to GS4 when they were actually worth having.

I would say for some of my chars its been the horendous wait times.

I had to get 22 Troll scalps... not that bad, except it was during the jant invasion, and all the trolls were gone. I was rank 18, and by the end of the war I had been demoted to rank 3, so I basically had to start all over.

Where the hell can you get gold lockpicks from nowadays? I've hunted high or low, and I need 7 of the buggers! :?:

Actually, I dont think the rose gold ones in the back work...but there are regular ones in the front room.

There are player shops in Solhaven that carry most items so you do not have to run back to landing... or worry about skins....

There are two shops in the first room that have good amounts of skins and more and Katee's Kupboard in the second room carries amulets and greaves I think...
