Anyone else having issues with animating PCs?

I could of sworn it was 100% no matter the crimson crystals or MAL or whatever, but I've failed twice now. Using MTK blood/crystals, level 100 animating a level 100, one rank of necro. I bugged it in game and another sorcerer said they were having the same issues with 60 ranks of necro up there.

You carefully spread your crimson salt crystals on the body of Dhairn.
>730 dhairn
You begin drawing a faint, twisting symbol while softly intoning the words for Animate Dead...
Your spell is ready.
You gesture at Dhairn.
d100: 17 + Modifiers: 33== 50

You intone deeply over the body of Dhairn, as slender glowing wisps gather towards the uncut emerald within your hand, like a swarm of moths to a lantern. The emerald responds in kind by growing warm to the touch as the wisps disappear within, leaving it faintly aglow. You hold your uncut emerald out towards Dhairn, and turn it slowly as if winding up a mechanical clock; Dhairn's body responds likewise by slowly setting itself in motion.

Your uncut emerald grows brighter and brighter until a crack suddenly forms within its core, causing the gem to shatter.
... 10 points of damage!
Strike through the palm!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

!>730 dhairn
Underfoot, the ground is slippery, slopped with a sort of brown goo -- it resembles a heavy sort of gravy. Beneath the sludge are strips of meat, the smell of which wafts upward in waves of warmth. Looking over the edge of this platform of meat finds a crust of bread all around, and instead of a sky above, there is the color of wheat on a substance that looks soft and porous. You also see a glistening cerebralite, a murky soul siphon (stunned), a glistening cerebralite (stunned), a star ruby, a murky soul siphon (prone), a stout rotting wood staff, a Vvrael destroyer, the Draithe disk and a darkly inked fetish master (stunned).
Also here: the body of Dhairn (prone)
Obvious exits: north, up, down

You intone deeply over the body of Dhairn, as slender glowing wisps gather towards the uncut diamond within your hand, like a swarm of moths to a lantern. The diamond responds in kind by growing warm to the touch as the wisps disappear within, leaving it faintly aglow. You are stunned for 1 round!

Dead adventurers should be the easiest to animate since the corpse offers the least resistance. Not that I can see a dead creature offering resistance.

Sounds to me like a bug.

I used to give Sorcerers with zero necro, like Sereg, crystals to animate dead players.

Heck Sereg participated in the Twilight Hall animate battles... he used crystals created by Querthose.

Sounds like an environmental hindrance modifier, the rift has been known to do stranger things

If he tried this in Scatter, more than likely you are right. It is a new area and may have different rules. Who knows the GMs may have tweaked the entire rift area a little.

I have yet to venture there. Still working on some post cap goals first.
