Wonderful!

The article makes it funnier because you actually see what those people thought was happening. (http://www.theonion.com/articles/planned-parenthood-opens-8-billion-abortionplex,20476/)
"The Abortionplex's high-tech machinery is capable of terminating one pregnancy every three seconds," Richards added. "That's almost a million abortions every month. We're so thrilled!"
Hundreds of on-site counselors are also available to meet with clients free of charge and go over the many ways that carrying a child to term will burden them and very likely ruin their lives . . . "Whether she's a high school junior who doesn't want to go to prom pregnant, a go-getter professional who can't be bothered with the time commitment of raising a child, or a prostitute who knows getting an abortion is the easiest form of birth control—all are welcome."
Nineteen-year-old Marcy Kolrath, one of the Abortionplex's first clients, told reporters that despite her initial hesitancy . . . . "But after a couple of margaritas and a ride down the lazy river they've got circling the place, I got caught up in the vibe. By the time it was over, I almost wished I could've aborted twins and gotten to stay a little longer."
The remaining space is dedicated to amenities such as coffee shops, bars, dozens of restaurants and retail outlets, a three-story nightclub, and a 10-screen multiplex theater—features intended not only to help clients relax, but to foster a sense of community and make abortion more of a social event.
"Our hope is for this facility to become a regular destination where a woman in her second trimester can whoop it up at karaoke and then kick back while we vacuum out the contents of her cervix."

Hahaha, Third from the bottom looks like someone I know and she's a complete "believe it without reading it" type of person.
''Mother Theresa says the fruit of abortion is nuclear war''!!
''I pray this will end like the Titanic. Swiftly and absolutely''!!

I wouldn't call them "the crazies" as I think most people would be against this type of thing if it were real. They are just stupid for thinking it was real.

I think he means "crazies" because these people are so deluded by the belief that pro-choice = anti-life that they'd believe this.
Even if this were in the NYTimes, I'd just assume that a writer and her editor would be getting fired today and move on with my day.

I've seen The Onion fool many a dumb person on non-hot button topics, though.

semantics of crazies aside, I'm not FOR abortion, but I'm pro choice. I honestly wouldn't care if something like that was built. It'd be a collosal waste of money as I highly doubt people would take it as lightly as the surroundings would suggest.

I would volunteer there just to be able to hang out in a place like that. I could be the operator for the "push a pregnant woman down the stairs" ride. With carny teeth. I would need carny teeth.

You should respond to each of those people individually and educate them about their mistake. That would be better than just calling them dumb and laughing at them I think.

No surprise from some of the shit you'll see on Fox news and other sources of that nature. I like when they use each other as "reliable sources" and end up doing a circular quoting themselves. Fucking tools.

I'm not quite sure you're aware of what kind of 'news source' The Onion is if you're referring to Fox news and 'other sources of that nature' when talking about The Onion.

I'm up on what The Onion is. I'm just making a reference to the some of the nut jobs and other crazies I've seen who actually would use an article like that on The Onion as real. And yeah there are quite a few who might think The Onion or Colbert are real and take it serious.
