Working a TWC build and I was thinking about going katars but between the skillpoint investment and the increased cost and difficulty I'm running into trying to find a nice pair I'm beginning to think maybe I should switch to OHE/OHB pure instead of OHE and brawling. I'd be able to dump more points into dodging and MOC that way and wouldn't be as hard up to find a weapon with my limited income.
Currently rolling with 1 4x ice flaring katar and 1 4x vanilla katar and I can see my 30 days coming up in the distance.
Thoughts?

I'm currently rolling with twc katars, and let me tell you it is a nightmare to try and find nice katars to wield. If you decide to go OHE, you'll probably be able to find superior or better weapons easily. There are at least 5 perfect ones under 3 million in player shops right now. The best quality Katar I can find is a well-crafted one.
If you continue down the Katar path, you CAN use nice OHEs and Brawlers when they come to you, but it's a bit silly to spend all those TPs if you're going to use a longsword and main gauche.
That being said, I love swinging two katars. It's not the BEST option, mechanically speaking. But it's a lot of fun, and you can wreck things berserking. Do what you're gonna find fun, I'd say.

Katars: mechanically advantageous, hard to find weapons.
OHE: Hamstring, lots of weapon, mechanically weakest of the three.
OHB: fewer weapons than OHE, more than Katars; morning-stars are probably the best 1 handed weapon in the game; also need a cman takedown because you can't use hamstring.
I've got a TWC Warrior I'm messing around with at the moment; he uses a fal/longsword. He could just as easily use two maces, or two morning-stars. It's a goldilock's problem; pick the one that you think you're going to enjoy the most.

EDIT: I will say the points I'm saving from not using katars allow me to throw points at MoC and Dodge, which are extremely advantageous mechanically speaking. MoC is what you need with TWC, since you have to go with 'death by a thousand cuts' more than 'one big whallop' of the claidh/maul types.

Thanks guys. I'll probably go OHE and handaxes, since I like the idea and this warrior is for fun. I probably won't be able to sink a lot of money into getting him a nice set of katars or morning stars.

The other advantage of OHE is you don't have to stick to one set of weapons. I've got my set of fal/longsword, but I'll switch to handaxes when I want to hunt stuff in heavier armor.
The advantage of katars is that they are super fast for the amount of damage they deal. The best way to take advantage of them is with a ton of MOC, you can get off a ton of strikes in a short amount of time.

It should also be noted that the brawling cmans work with katars. I use twin hammerfist as my knock down and love it, especially with flaring katars. Sometimes I'll get a death crit from a flare, or both will flare at the same time. Also, what I've done to find flaring katars is looked on nilindia's site regarding previous merchants who had flaring 4x weapons, and then enter those descriptions into playershops. Be surprised what you can find that way.

They're really nice weapons, and twinhammerfist is amazing, I just don't have the cash to invest in them. I will have to stick with hamstring.
