Hey all, just getting back into Gemstone and I am planning to use my fixskills soon, just not sure what direction to go. As of right now I have a hiding/ambush hunting style which I enjoy, but I am not sure what has changed in the game over the past 10 years, so I don't know if that is still a good style for rogues. Also, I don't have too much experience with combat maneuvers/what combinations work well together.

Any recommendations or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I be open to completely changing styles, but that would probably involve significant amount of money to buy equipment that suits the new style. I have about a mil in the bank - once again, don't know if that is enough money to make serious changes or not.

One other side note about Guild training - It seems that stun maneuvers isn't even worth working on unless you master it. Do people agree with this? Most of the skills for the first 30 ranks aren't even very useful I believe. As for subdue, I have about 16 ranks and can't find anything near Whenimer's to get reps off of at level 35. Any thoughts?

Here is a breakdown of my info/skills/cman/equipment

My suggestion is to do anything other than sword and board. Consider two weapon combat. The only class that should be using shields these days is paladins. This is more of a style thing but I think sword and board is sword and boring.

Any recommendations on a training breakdown for either 2 weapon combat, or possibly a 2 hander?

Basics:

2x: edged or blunt, two weapon combat, dodge, stalking and hiding, ambush
1x: physical fitness, cm

If you're not voln, get a few harness power ranks for CoL/GoS powers. dump the rest of the points into whatever you want. I'm not a big fan of the rogue in plate, but you can 2x armor if you want to go in that direction. If you aren't picking, then you don't need a ton of perception. Unless you really like seeing people hide/unhide or like to find people in hiding you don't need more than 10-20 ranks of it.

If you want to do TWH, just train in that instead of edged/blunt + TWC. Rogues are pretty flexible with TPs.

If you go 2wc or 2hw you need to learn Cman vanish for when it doesn't work out and leaves you in RT in the open.
