I have a 50 sorcerer who is a runestaff user. He was purchased as a support character but now I have a wizard and the sorc has been put in mothballs for a few years. I have tried on a few occasions to hunt with him and all those trips ended in epic failure. I would like an experienced sorcerer to spend a bit of time helping me learn to be a sorcerer. My ranger will cap soon and the sorcerer is next on the list. I will be happy to compensate someone for their time and expertise. Thanks in advance.

The bigger your CS and DS, the easier the hunting. Bam educated.

If your character is a Dhe'nar Dark Elf, Evarin would be willing to help. Otherwise, feel free to ask specific questions you might have here. A good many sorcerers always willing to give advice.

Find Jules, or IM me. I'm willing to port over to just about anywhere to help. If you don't mind undead, level 50 is great for Bonespear in Solhaven.

Eh, this thread name just caught my eye.

Seeing as there's maybe 1 actual in-game Mentor who is a Sorcerer. And Izzea is recruiting more Mentors throughout this year. Hint.

And only one Paladin active too. Imagine that.

EN: Hunt Blighted forest. Two types of ogres: Wizard and Rogue. 708 right arm on either and it will keep them from attacking. then you can plink away. Vipers spit, but they stun FOREVER, so 706 them once or twice and have at it. Hunt only in the treetops to avoid boars, because they charge. Do this until high 50s and you're set.

Use 702/705 if strapped for mana, otherwise use 719 on the wizard ogres and maybe 711 on vipers and rogue ogres. If your CS isn't high enough to ward effectively, fixskills to stack sorc CS. The best defense there is a good offense.

Actually, IMO, the easiest hunting for a level 50 sorcerer in EN is animated slushes (level 54) which are absolutely destroyed by 111. Of course, this assumes you've double spell aim like a good sorcerer.

And no, you don't need a bunch of toys to have an AS good enough, I never hunted them with Viril, being double their age when EN opened, I ran shattered characters through there though, empaths, clerics, hunting with 111.

Yeah. I used Major Fire on the slushes with my warmage (doubled spell aim but no 513 up) and it tore through them. My warmage was the definition of "shit bolt AS". Viril's probably onto something.

I hunted that area with my Sorcerer, and Viri is correct it's easy picking. The only issue there would be the sweep CM's and I believe the slushes have some kind of CM or perhaps it was Major E-wave, I forget. In either case you can usually tell when it's coming. I greatly prefer that to the spitting vipers, they can take out both eyes and than you can't cast, it's just a pain.

I'd hit the valley until you get to about 60, and than if you have a decent CS you can move right to the Temple Wyneb which a sorcerer can own with 719.

Oh yeah, only other note is that hunting the Gossamer Valley is that the loot sucks. You get some gold dust but for the most part that's it. If silver isn't an issue though it's probably your best/easiest bet.

The slushes do cast Major E-wave, but you can effectively use 703 against them and stop them from casting against you. NOTE that this does not hold true for the glacial morphs, which have their own special way of telling you they love you and want you to stay.

I'm only speaking from my own experience here, but when Jules was 50, Gossamer Valley's TDs were too high for her to fry there. But I guess if you can wrack, then that's not as much of an issue because you have more mana.

Also, the snow madrinols crit very easily.

No one should be finding hunting a sorcerer hard. Ever.
Unless you know absolutely nothing about their spells and I mean haven't even read the literature anywhere.

If you have trouble warding the TD's in Gossamer Valley, than Bonespear is probably the next best option at your early 50's. Sentinels and Banshee in Darkstone Castle are a pain, not only to get to, but the Banshee's have a TD boosting skill/spell that will make them nearly untouchable at that level.

Vortaz in EN are also an option as are Faeroth if you need a few more levels before hitting the Valley. However I was in CoL and as Viri suggested I mostly used 111 which negated any TD issues if there were any. So it will depend on build what works for you. This is about the age I fell in love with 111 and 711. Pain works wonders on Vipers and Ogre's.

Wrong. hunting a sorcerer below 15 is AWFUL. Just awful. I remember having to actually hit things with weapons! Blech.

THIS. Jules hunted Bonespear from 50 to 58 (usually using guarded curse on the spelled-up eidolons) and it was both lucrative and easy as hell. Nothing there has any maneuvers (except the waern will occasionally disarm you, so don't take any nice runestaves in there), and the really nice thing about Solhaven is that once you get to level 54 or 55, all of your creature AG tasks will be eidolon-related.

Lol that's almost easier! Wait.. swing.. wait.. swing..
There is not much that can do anything special to you at 15 or below.
But yeah I remember weapons. Those were tedious times for sure.
