Just trying to get some info, i've heard two things now. Can a weighted or flaring weapon become holy with 1625, then get double plasma flars with 1608, so in essence have a weighted flaring weapon or a tripple flaring weapon? i've heard you could, and i've heard you could not. thanks!

Any weapon can become sanctified with 1625, but weapons that are weighted or already have flares will not gain the benefits of 1608 flares. The weapon will simply stay weighted or with the same flare as before Sanctify was cast.

At least that's how I remember the mechanics working. If they've changed in 3 years then disregard.

That is correct. If it has flares or weighting it can be sanctified, but it will not have flares added over top of any of that.

Just confirming what was said above.

Interestingly, if you 1625 bond to a crit-weighted weapon (for example), you can still INFUSE offensive spells into the weapon, which randomly flare.

But everyone pretty much agrees INFUSE is stupid/broken.

Blink weapons are what 1625 infused spells should be.

I believe there are some weapons that might have a type of "flare" and can still benefit from the holy flare. For example I think the chain spears is like this. It will knock down (it's flare) and still have the holy flare. Or am I way off here?

That may be considered a functional script, instead of a flare. Don't quote me on it though.

Yes chainspears have a unique flare, where one of the links of the chain will flare and hit an enemy, and can also gain the guiding light flares, where there is a possibility of 3 flares.

How is the weapon returning supposed to work? I was disarmed by a shan warrior today, he picked up my weapon and started swinging at me. It never returned to my hands until I came back with a new weapon and killed the bastard.

My enhanced str bonus is +6, which I assume is fully bonded. Is there another way to tell the bond level?

You're only bonded at rank 3 currently. Rank 5, which grants the return feature, would display an increase of 10 to the stat(+5 bonus). 2 more to go bud.

What if I have a 7x blessable falchion. Can I bond to it and then add 1608 flares? Will I have to add the 1608 flares on an ongoing basis?

Thanks

I would really appreciate if someone took and posted screen shots of them actually using 1625 and 1608 on a weapon so i could see the verbage to type in and how it works and what "success" messages look like.

that is part of the reason my paladin just uses the 6x Iasha lance, so I dont have to deal with it!

You can bond and add 1608, once you achieve your first bonding rank it will always have guiding light flares until you unbond.

prep 1608
cast <weapon>

Will either see it sink in or weapon return to normal if can hold GL flares.
