My first post in this forum. Whoo hoo.
Hello everybody. I am seeking advice regarding a deed to a property in Ta'Vaalor, gained during the most excellent Droughtman Challenge. I've received some very useful official information and need to make a decision about whether or not to retain the property or sell the deed.
I suppose the first question is, what can you guys tell me about summoning chambers? There's one in this property. Sounds distinctly waggle finger-ish to me.

Wow, this surprises me. If there is a summoning chamber, I would think the sorc kind, thats generally two properties with some kind of tie to the, shall we say, dark side of elves in vaalor. Apparently the one I had gotten as a drop had something in it more commonly tied to the Feandryl.
Honestly, never heard of a private summoning chamber or anything about benefits of one. Most likely it's purely non-functional.
Properties are very hard to judge really. Depends on where, what type, and why someone wants it. How many rooms, storage, location, style.. etc etc. Also the monthly upkeep.
First thing's first, being Vaalor, unless you generally live there, or at the least in Illistim, May not be the best option. Since you have to pay rent personally every month. having to trek there from say RR sucks. Of course you can always roll up a new person to Hold the property, and just give your other chars extra keys to it. -- on a side note, ask for extra keys, and ask to make them WEARABLE, a LM rogue CAN make more duplicates later too, using blanks and your key --
oh look, it's bremerial on the PC

Well I am a Kharam-Dzu dwarf so being surrounded by elves is not the most pleasant of thoughts - no offence to you elves out there
Its actually a 3 room property (with a fourth room that isn't a full part of the property) and the only private property at this time with a summoning chamber. It's along Fearling Pass, a few rooms from the ferry I am told.
I do like the fact I can modify the food and personal crest there and the rent is 125K per month.
Thanks for the information - some useful advice. Perhaps it's time I face my fears and see what the land of elves is like - Island life can be somewhat insular admitedly. Not that I would ever relinquish citizenship of my soot filled paradise, or hunt anywhere else.
:thanx:

Haha - yeah I know. Welcome to the 21st Century Brem!
Good advice.
Though, if it's a summoning chamber for Sorcerors... can't they just portal to Ta'Vaalor and back to where they want?
Either way Bremerial. I imagine if you put it up for sale, or even auction you wouldn't be dissapointed. The Solhaven mage workshop property had offers of 100mil easy, though the seller seemed to want more.
I'd expect this to go for that or more.

Well, with rent of 125k a month it sounds like that chamber is supposed to be functional now, or at some point. Thats really high for rent for a small property like that without a room thats giving a bonus, aka workshop.
If I were you I would specifically ask if the chamber has a bonus to anything now, or planned to in the future. If it's intended for a sorc or not would influence it allot.

yes, if a Sorc bought it. if he kept it for himself, could be a pain paying 200k a month, or wasting say 5 hours of game time walking it back and forth.
If it was intended to help a sorc in some way, I am sure there are a few of them that will be VERY interested in this. And they tend to have robust bank accounts. Not to mention allot of them would envoy lording it over the Vaalor people.
Evil Bastards that they are, of course.

I imagine they could potentially use the chamber for more sucessful temporal rifts, or teleporting, or as an anchor for it? That'd be pretty sweet.
Also, just to have a 'base' of sorts for the 'eveeel' Faendryl to have near Ta'Vaalor? I agree. Plenty of RP potential, if not expensive.

Definitely functional from what I gather. I didn't understand the bit about 'bonus'. Non waggle finger here - I know a wand is a pointy stick and that's almost about it... :tumble:
I suspect I will sell this but will try and acquire more information. It never feels right to hang onto something that has great functionality but which I can't use. I do love the uniqueness of it though...
Will come back when I have answer to some of those questions I didn't understand. ::smirk::

I could be wrong but im pretty sure those summoning chambers provide a bonus to rifting and imbuing scrolls. The chambers are an option for the CHE's to add to their houses as well but as someone else said no other private properties have a similar room yet.

 Alas from my perspective I was struggling to see the RP benefits for me. But if I find them, perhaps that'd be another matter. perhaps someone can suggest something... brain freeze..
Er... a bearded female dwarf... who invaded a Faendryl Manor, slaying them all... and.. used their blood to find a cure for red rot....yeah. I dunno. I'd sell it personally. ;)

Summoning Chambers provide a bonus to 725, and that's it at the moment. There is one available in Ta'Illistim, and unless the guild is still broken in Ta'Vaalor, there is one near there as well.Magical Workshops provide benefits to 420 and 714. No area provides a bonus to 740, unfortunately.
That being said, Evarin is fairly active in the area and would be interested in the property. There are also Fashionistas who are literally drowning in silvers who would pay through the nose for this place as well.

Well i've asked a few more questions. based upon the information that you've all provided and will provide any response that is kindly provided. One thing I should add is that the deed stated the following:
Lapse in payments will result in repossession. Properties are limited to one per account and are permanently dually tied to both the winning character and account in order to retain ownership.
Basically once the deed is turned into a property, the property is tied to that character and account. That may impact on the decision regarding which character redeems the deed.
I'll reiterate this when I move this to the appropriate thread for sale. Looks like i've made up my mind. But i'll see what further information I receive.
Thanks all. Don't know why I didn't visit this forum before. Just one note. Why so many avatars with breasts?

i'm pretty sure that 740 *is* affected when used with *less* than a number of ranks of demonology if cast from inside a summoning chamber, in other words, outbound traffic by less than awesome 'shifters'.
also the guild in ta'vaalor is just dandy with a clever puzzle to get inside on par with ta'illistim's puzzle for their sorcerer guild.

I know there was some discussion on the officials as to this topic a short while ago. A GM never chimed in to confirm whether or not 740 gets any aid from Summoning Chambers. I'm fairly sure it does not, but I could be wrong.

Amen. We definitely need more tits. Avatars or not. We actually seem to be transitioning away from breasts lately and it makes me frown. Rojo's Tank Girl was a bastion but now she has abs and cock all over her avatar (or did, I haven't checked today).
