Archaic mithril plate-and-mail
The venerable armor shows its age in both design and its myriad of nicks, scratches and dents. Underneath the layered mithril plates is a thick four-in-one hauberk, protecting the joints. Spaulders drape down over the shoulders, beneath lay leather jointed rerebraces and vambraces strapped securely to the mail sleeves. Under the hauberk's skirt are a pair of simple cuisses and spade poleyns covering mail chausses. Contrasting the base armor are several modern reinforcements, including a thick, burnished gorget and a heavy pauldron over the left shoulder. Displayed on the pauldron is a crimson eagle on an argent field.
I am going for an old, antiquated style of armor. My goal is to have this armor look like something from several hundred years ago, when full-plate was being developed to counter crossbows and other weapons. I like the asymmetry of having heavier reinforcement on the shield side.
The RP background for the armor is that it is the armor of a low giantman nobleman of the T'Kirem clan that serves on a hereditary deputation to the Turamzzyrian Empire. It is old as dirt, has been in basically every major war that either the Empire or Giantkin were involved in and has been reinforced with modern protection on an ad-hoc basis. The family crest is a red (sanguine or crimson) eagle displayed on an argent field.
The 15/15/15 is not set, but I tend to favor a shorter TAP description with a longer show.
