Ha, so, I found this on my person earlier today. Anyone remember what happened with this group of Sorcerers who were assisting Romulus? I was in it, but then I quit GS for personal reasons and obviously never saw the end result. This was right around the time the nerfs of MD and DC happened, and 705 changed.
>l black am
You see a black amulet.
It is turned so that it IS visible to others.
PULL to transport to and from meeting room.
TAP to quietly page Sage Kyalia or Romulus in that order if they are in-game.
TURN to hide/unhide the black amulet and toggle messaging on and off.
Remember, this amulet if for official Sorcery-related business only. This is not your personal pager. If you abuse it, it will be removed.

>pull black am
>
As you pull on the amulet, a hissing voice whispers in your mind, "Mistress, the way is not yet prepared for us. One of the Greater Masters must light the way for us by being in the location of our destination. Without that guide, you will be lost with us in our dark outer world."
* * *
>tap black am
You quietly tap your amulet in an attempt to call for Sorcery related assistance.
Sorcery Liaison Kyalia does not appear to be available at this time.
Remember; These amulets are for official Sorcery related business only. If you desire their help with an issue that is not specifically Sorcery related request an assist.

>turn black am
You turn your black amulet around so that it can't be seen.
I have to say I particularly like the messaging that Romulus put in for PULL when he's not around (which is, uh, not ever anymore). Speaking of which: anyone have Steve/Romulus's contact info?

Wow. I've never seen anything like this, or heard that they went out. You should post that on the officials, or I can if you want. I'm sure a lot of people would get a kick out of that.

They didn't really "go out", per se. There was a group of about ten Sorcerers meeting with Romulus to discuss changes to Sorcery, of whom I was one. I only recall a few of the others, but I thought maybe some of the older players on this Board might remember. I don't know what happened with the group, but obviously Romulus is no longer the Sorcery guru.
I considered posting it on the officials. My concern is that some GM will feel it's "unfair" for me to have it and take it away. It gives me absolutely no benefit and is a nice memory of a time when my commentary on the matter of Sorcery was, at least, useful and considered thoughtful.

It would be bullshit if they wouldn't let you keep it. Surely they can deactivate it somehow and simply leave it.

Nothing EVER came of that group sadly.
Steve/Romulus did all the changes as instructed for Growing Pains II and left shortly thereafter on a long term LOA which eventually led to his removal. He left me holding the bag for the sorcery forums and didn't let me even know he was leaving. Warden eventually created sacrifice based on comments and my ideas from dealing with the fallout from GP2.
Steve came back for a few months and did some updates to the janitor system, then faded away quietly again.
It was sad, it was a great idea, but in the end, a lot of people, Hadiar, Bestatte, i forget whom else was involved, but none of the suggestions saw the light of day, much like that one spell Romulus said was coming, coming, coming, RSN...
Heh.

Reminds me a little of the deputy badges, though they were at least useful for a time. As for it being bullshit if they take it away... the one feature of the deputy badges that had remained useful after the deputy parts wre neutered, was finally cut off a couple of years ago: they gave you unlimited access to the amunet, at least they did if it was your badge.

So THAT'S where they duped all of those unlimited crystal amulets!

Yeah, well, this doesn't do ANYTHING, especially since I keep it turned so it's invisible.
But damn them for taking away your permanent crystal amulet. I hear you can buy one of those now... ;)

The recall is strong with this one...
I actually liked the idea for that spell. But speaking of spells we're supposed to get RSN - BALEFIRE?

As far as I know, it is still in the test instance. They'll likely roll it out with P-mail.

It was one tiny perk after years of law enforcement service! Damn them for taking away my crystal amulet pension!
That said, your black amulet is pretty neat even if it doesn't do anything.
