That and phases ability to basically hold a ton of loot nearly weightless are two of the most underrated, powerful things in gemstone. Aubery uses vanish on plane 2 of the rift to great affect... hunts almost entirely with feras daggers.

Do that rogue magic where you can help your armour towards hiding.
And yeah, Vanish is a gift from the Gods.
And static on a TV is actually the very same radiation from the original Big Bang.

Silentstrike + vanish is just fucking nasty.

Typically, a single divert would save you from having to use either.

In lich, just build a function that peers at all the possible exists. If 3+ creatures are in the room, send one creature to a room with no creatures in it, sneak in, and massacre. Otherwise, if only 2 creatures are in the room, divert one away and pwn the face of the creature in the room.

Silent strike and vanish are my bread and butter. For awhile I was thinking about shield bash, almost decided to go with surge, and then I noticed that divert actually existed. Cutting down swarms from the shadows with a plethora of abilities is fun.

I also have dirtkick, which I never use effectively. More of a spoof towards other players. Anyone putting dirtkick to good use?

I really need to learn some of these new tactics. Right now, my most advanced hunting technique is hiding/ambushing followed by squinting at the screen holding my "Stance Defensive" macro in the hopes that swarms don't connect with my head while in the open.

Now if only I had more CM points...

Dirtkick is a great cman. It's pretty much made for dealing with the fast/perceptive creatures. It's a good defense against getting nailed when open/offensive.

- It's one of the safest offensive maneuvers (short roundtime & stance independent)
- As a setup maneuver, it ensures that you get a disabling/kill shot (EBP penalty)
- It's good against secondary creatures in the room which might catch you in offensive (AS penalty, RT, stuns)
- Keeps annoying low-level perceptive creatures from spotting you (e.g. Polar Bears in Pinefar)

Unless I am mistaken, Dirt Kick is also not stance dependant. Or is that dust shroud?

I wouldn't drop dirtkick for anything. It's low cost to train, low cost to use, and very effective at rank 5. If I dirtkick war griffins... at 2x hiding + 5 ranks smastery, I can hide on them. (Without the dirtkick, no way.) IT's also good for dropping their EBP so I can avoid hiding and just squash their heads.

Divert was nice, but it left me wanting, so I got feint back. With both feint and dirtkick, I'm pretty well prepared to set up almost any critter I come across.

What are the factors that contribute to a successful dirtkick?

Also, I hate not being able to dirtkick non-corp. :rageguy:

Lastly, instead of dkick, I went twc and ambushed as per usual without setup. Since I forced them into offensive with ambush, it was rare they would E/B/P both daggers to the eye.
