Anyone enjoying the new one?

Fucking blast. I've unlocked a bunch of the fatalities and a couple hidden characters. My favorite is Sektor's Skarecrow fatality. Cyrax's human form looks pretty awesome too.

Bout 4/5ths through Story Mode, I think. Chapter 15.

The new MK kicks ass. I'm hoping eventually they'll release the MK1 alts/fatalities as DLC at some point cause I like to use Reptile and Scorpion, too and I'm pretty sure the only way to use those fatalities is to have the alt costume unlocked.

Shao Kahn is a real dick. Having to use Raiden in story mode against him angered me, but after like an hour and a half of getting my ass whooped, I finally beat the homo.

Cracked the top 100 on 1v1 ladder last night, but probably got knocked back up a bit since I haven't played today.

Some of the stage fatalities are amusing. My favorites are the street and subway ones. Sadly, I fail hard at Subzero's babality for some reason (I'm guessing I just suck at finding the right distance), though some of them are kinda funny. I was never a fan of the babalities, but watching Kano fall over cause he can't hold up his head with all the metal in it got a little laugh out of me. And it's fun to babality people you beat senseless.

Are there any other unlockable characters aside from Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero? I've heard the bosses won't be playable (which makes sense given the ability to play online ranked matches), but haven't heard of any others we can get right now. I saw some things about classic Smoke (I think) and Reptile, but I'm not sure if beating them unlocks anything.

I will not be playing this game because:

1) I'm not a 13 year old boy.

2) I dont secretly wish I was the Karate Kid.

3) There are better games to play. Such as:

Story mode was a lot of fun. The netcode for online play, however, is utter shit (got it for the 360 so I could play this weekend--the entire PSN network has been down for days).

I guess I've been spoiled by the awesome netcode in BlazBlue, very good netcode in Soul Calibur 4 and the decent netcode in Street Fighter 4. MK's is just terribad--it's almost completely unenjoyable unless you're close (within 2 or 300 miles) to the other person. By comparison, you could play people in East Asia (from the East coast of the USA) with very very little lag in BlazBlue, and anyone in the continental US without lag in Soul Calibur 4.

Worst thing is if you're in a King of the Hill match (where 7-8 people can join)--if a single person joins that is far away from the host, it affects EVERYBODY's game, and the game apparently doesn't make much of an effort to match you by location.

Edit: I also started getting another error when I try to connect to online games (searching manually works, but can't browse the rooms anymore). "MK Server not available," and yet it works on other gamertags on the Xbox. Gave Netherrealm a call, and they walked me through bullshit, meaningless steps before saying "Okay, we'll add you to the growing number of cases where this has happened. Give us your e-mail and someone will, someday, send you an e-mail when it's fixed." Thanks. Thanks, for that.

Anyway, the story mode was quite good. So yeah, there's that.

Yeah, it feels like they took an earlier MK and added a few modern fighter additions (tag modes and X-Ray attacks). I've been mostly doing random fights and figuring out the moves.. Probably should work on story mode so I can unlock more fighters.

Best MK ever. Except the lag, which they said they're working on a fix for. Lag seemed to be significantly worse on 360 than PS3, but might have just been a fluke since I only played the XB one for a few days til PSN came back up.

Add FLIPOUT on PS3 if you wanna go some rounds.
