View Full Version : Arrowheads from spitfire

So quite possibly the greatest item from the spitfire just has to be the arrowheads and caps. However, I heard a rumor there was some sort of nasty bug involving them. Before I start fletching my virtual fingers to the bone, does anyone know what that bug may be? Should I assist to have anything fixed, is the fix system wide, or is this only a nasty rumor?

They show up with a bugged display when fletched:

anturn faewood arrow fletched with storm grey feathers and tipped with a rhimar rhimar arrowhead

a bundle of obsidian-tipped arrows, a bundle of feras-tipped arrows, a bundle of feras-tipped bolts, a bundle of obsidian-tipped bolts.
ammo (6): a bundle of acid-tipped arrows, a bundle of flint-tipped arrows, a bundle of frost-tipped arrows, a bundle of acid-tipped bolts, a bundle of frost-tipped bolts, a bundle of flint-tipped bolts.

For visible arrowheads in the long, the 'anturn' bug can be bypassed right now only if you paint the arrow, either bands or fully painted.

For instance:

You tap a vermilion banded wooden arrow tipped with a steel bodkin arrowhead, which is in your right hand.

The uh, double material on these guise though, I don't think there's a way around that 'til the GM who coded them figures it out.

what is the best way to get this fixed? Have a GM fix the arrowheads, or the bundle of made arrows? I have a fear that each arrow will need to be fixed.

You could use blue griffin feathers to get lightning flares... just FYI :)

Besides the anturn bug, do the arrows still get all weird with the double material in the show if you paint them? That rhimar rhimar arrowhead is strange.

The rhimar rhimar arrowhead was fixed on the newest arrowheads, I think. You could put your old ones in the locker for now, and buy new ones.

Btw, keep in mind that if you make the arrow description long enough, you won't readily see the flaws. You'd just see an arrow, unless you looked at it more closely.

I bought hundreds when the festival first started, so those are probably bugged. I think I'm just going to assist and wait for someone to show up.

I finally assisted on this issue, and I was told to the issue was being worked on, and that I should check the officials. It's going to be a system wide fix I think, and that we should expect it soon. At least that is what I am assuming after talking with the gamehost and getting up to speed on the officials.

They said that on the boards right after the problem was discovered.

i've just been shooting rhimar rhimar arrows, roger roger! they are completely functional and have the same side effect as griffon fletching when a bandit picks up the '5x weapon with flares' and swings it at me with shivery results

arrows made with those heads and caps do they destroy the arrow when the flare goes off like grif feathers?

No this doesn't happen with these arrowheads, or with griffin fletched arrows either. You must be thinking of a different mechanic.

There's slender black arrows that have mechanical flares that eventually break the arrows, and also feras arrows, but I'm too sure how they work.

I'll sell you some. Although they are still glithced, and I am really not to hopeful they will get fixed anytime soon.

Hey guys, I just wanted to comment that while the double material arrowhead/cap issue is being worked on for some of the arrowheads/caps that went out at the Spitfire (people who bought arrowheads/caps toward the end of the Spitfire shouldn't have an issue), the issue is not related to the anturn bug that crops up with certain materials being used during the fletching process.

As for the double material issue, it is still being worked on for those that bought them before the issue was discovered. If, when you fletch, you don't do long descriptions, they aren't such an eye sore. I know this doesn't solve the issue, but it's a remedy for those that want to use non-ugly arrows. If you have any concerns, feel free to email my play.net address concerning the double material arrowheads/caps.
