Just to compare this orb to skill points:

It takes 10 ranks of mana control to gain 1 mana per pulse back. This orb is than equivalent to 200 ranks of mana control in terms of mana per pulse.

I believe if you have 300 mana you get 45 back per pulse off node(while hunting). It is not possible through harness power training to recoup an additional 20 mana. So you would have to train 100 more times in harness power, which adds only 100 mana which would give you 15 back off node.

So for a pure that is a savings of 800 mental points for harness power.

I also would like to point out that the item lists no level restrictions. So I believe that means when the orb is generated, anyone will be able to use it.

Well, I always pick up and sell off the drake weapons and haven't seen one. Buckwheet, was the description just "a drake war hammer". That also begs the question of how often do you see drake war hammers? Usually it's just a falchion or what not. And then there is +20 to anything seems more like a GM feed item and not randomly created by the system.

fusion runestaff, fusion armor. Buy a +5 orb (lots on playershops) add this, wear two +5 bracelets. Total of +35 right there. This is such a good orb for a middling wizard.

These items are fine, as are all of Jinsem's items. I just find Jinsem in general to be really shady. The fact that he had shadowdeath vambraces made for him by GMs, is one point of shadiness. You can just look at his repeated history of trying to "break" items or test things in ways they weren't supposed to operate and getting rewarded by GMs for it. I don't trust people who are GM favorites, especially those who end up with items like these that appear to operate outside of designed guidelines.

That being said, since he is long gone and this item, along with all the others being for sale, have been around for years and not messed with, I think that the buyer should not be concerned.

They used to drop when drake weapons dropped with hilts etc. I haven't found a drake enhancive since they stopped that. Not sure if they stopped completely or just changed the formula.

I don't know anything about this transaction, but I believe the hard cap to spirit was in fact instituted as a response to what Jinsem was doing with the spirit system at the time. The guy's an innovator, shady or not.

Just because I'm a loser that updated some krakii shit on this and have a post repped in the Sorcplosion 2009 thread and I easily found it, I'll say that one of the main beefs in the whole thing was that Oscuro posted that spirit was capped at 13 sometime in 2003 and that if someone said they had more than 13 they were lying. Others replied that they did not believe Jinsem was lying and it was kind of a stare-off from there.

Hrmm... As for being a GM favorite, I think Paul can vouch that I was actually NOT a favorite in any manner. I don't know if I was ever officially red flagged in the game but I was watched from time to time since I liked to break things, or find "features" within the game. A lot of what I found was used by other people later on. I never posted certain things because I liked playing GS and I was watched like a hawk on the boards. Emerdan had a big woodie for me sadly.

I do know that I did entertain GM's as Jinsem was RP'd rather oddly, and I am sure people will still say I didn't rp ever :)

As for the Shadow Vambraces, I've never once owned a pair so no idea where that came from. I did own a few odd things, but never that.

As for the SP thing. I was indeed able to get to 16SP. This was done abusing a system that no one else ever had a chance to try out as I bought all the +1 SP items I could. I am sure you will all see them as they come out as they are mostly all drake and black ora stuff.

When I deployed to Iraq they instituted a "fix" to the mechanics. I only really told one person about it, Paul can vouch for this if he recalls the conversation. I proved to him I could get 17SP, I was just short of the magic 18SP. 5 accts, and with WoL gems, mostly hobbit (3 out of 5), tons of +1SP items and recovery items, and my SP orb. People still don't know the last part of how to recharge effectively. Although some tout absurd tales on Blue Crystals and such LOL.

What else... Ahh the hammer. Was my first enhancive find, and it happened right after the enhancives were first put it. So yes, the item is quite old for the system. The +2SP item was found by a rogue named Slade. I quickly made a deal for it after hearing him trying to sell it on the amunet. It was found within the first week or something...

Oh, and Shady indeed! Anyone that knows me knows I am very upfront, and if I ever made a mistake I always make amends. Fighting words I say good sir! ;)

Here's why I kept most of what I learned to myself, although I did make a few mistakes now and then.

Long story alert!

There was once a warrior named Drizzsdt, and he was the oldest in the lands. He claimed that nothing could smite him, and that he could not be bled with mere fists. A lowly lvl20 (80th reroll?) hobbit warrior called him a liar and he took offense and challenged the warrior.

The lowly warrior took the challenge and in front of a few people that had read the message tree laugh at the lowly hobbit. The great warrior in his fairness said he would remove his armor so that I could have a fair battle.

The lowly hobbit said nae nae, please keep your armor on. The warrior gasped and said as you wish fool (seriously he said that). The warrior knew a secret and was ready to administer retribution. The lowly hobbit asked the warrior if he was ready to bleed, and the warrior laughed.

The hobbit attacked the prone warrior laying in offensive and HIT! A bruise to his back was seen before all with just a breif hit applied. The warrior gasped, cries of foul play from the gaggle of people. The lowly hobbit then said prepare to BLEED, and attacked yet again! Slowly blood oozed from his back. He sprang to his feet using a warrior trick and cried foul play, the lowly hobbit just laughed and claimed the crown of the blood letter.

Upon inspection people accused his werewolf claws to be weapons, others thought that perhaps he had a weapon that was invisible. But no the warrior cleared showed he bested the elder warrior with his mere hands.

I got lucky and got back to back "ambush backs." I told him it may take a few hits, and he said I could have as many as I wanted. I was just so happened to be AMBUSH Jinsem that reroll and pwn'd him.

Now you ask why did I type all of that. Because when you do something, or show certain people, certain things they can abuse it. As I did with my .bleed script since Jinsem has always been a non-weapon warrior. Ambush was changed a few months after that as Drizzsdt was most unhappy of the revelation. Was a good sport though. Were we the cause probably not, but was the timing odd. Indeed it was.
