Doing the normal THW rogue build.. 2x Armor, 2x THW, 2x Ambush, 1x PF, 2x Dodge, 3x Hiding, 2x Perception, and throwing in 1x Pickpocketing for fun.

Just curious.. I was thinking about going for a more dodging build.. Going to get my armor use up to 30 for the time being, then thinking about picking up Evade Mastery via CM, and using the armor points I have towards Armored Evasion.

Is this a viable build? Or will I get my ass handed to me constantly?

Also, another quick question. Did a little research but couldn't really find the answer, and the stat cruncher isn't friendly towards me.

Being an elf rogue, what would my base stats have to be to have the highest stats at 100?

Con: 82 = 100
Dex: 37 = 96
Dis: 82 = 100
Log: 70 = 98
Int: 62 = 100
Str: 62 = 100
Agi: 30 = 98
Inf: 77 = 100
Wis: 88 = 100
Aura: 70 = 98

Agility has a nice bonus as an elf.

Sounds like a good build but I dropped 2x armor to 1x and also 1x Cman. Pickpocketing is a good way to get stabbed in the face unless you're pickpocketing noobs or really good at it.

You're missing CM in that build?

I wouldn't pass on that as a combat rogue. At least 1x. Shoot for 2x.

My build is pretty standard.

2x OHE
2x Two weapon combat
1x Armor
1x Cman
2x Ambush
2x Stalk/hide
2x Perception
1x Fitness
3x Dodge
And whatever is left gets thrown into climbing and swimming.

Left out picking because it's incredibly annoying at lower levels.

Wrong build type. He asked for THW, not TWC.

Try this:

2x THW
1x Armor
2x Cman
2x Ambush
2x Stalk/hide
1x-2x Perception
1x Fitness
2x Dodge

Put extra into Armor or PT, or hiding if you really want to go for stealth while overhunting.

Get a maul. Ambush heads. With a wizard spellup you'll be able to overhunt 10 lvls pretty easily.

Ah, my mistake. The stats still stand though. You can tank influence due to it being a fast growing stat to elves and the lack of any real need for it as a rogue.

I'd try to 3x dodge before 3xing hiding. 2x hiding will work just fine for the vast majority of critters - and for the ones that don't, hit 'em in the fucking head with a maul.

Personally I like the full plate route, but everyone has a different opinion on these things. I know Grandsome only does Hauberk I believe.

Ahh, thanks guys. I have 1x CM in there, just forgot to put it. This helps a bunch, thanks.

For lower levels, would it make sense to invest in a katana?

I'd say Claid, hits harder.

Again, from a mechanics standpoint, I think the maul is the answer (no matter what). I did great with one in the low 30's.

I'd probably use a bastard sword before a katana, though. Maybe if your AGIDEX is horrible. I'd have to crunch it out to be sure. Anyway, slash-only is a bad choice here.

Claidhs and Mauls are pretty solid weapons through out. Claidhs are deadly and deal crush/slash criticals on low rolls, which is great if you're legging or taking out an arm. Mauls are deadly to the head and neck since the death criticals with crush but the same affect can be obtained for a lower roll on a Claidhmore.

I gotta cast my vote for a claidh.

Does Leash hunt the Rift? If he does, is it as a THW, plate wearing rogue? Just wondering in case I ever try this route and want to hunt the rift.

You won't have a lot of fun in the rift dude. The lower planes you won't be able to learn on and plane 5 you will only want to hit Vaesps which is boring.
Temple all the way bud-dy!
