a grooved golvern knife with a carved black ash handle

Bind-flaring 5x dagger won at Droughtman's. Flares activate prior to the swing, even on a missed attack or ambush, but does not activate on CMan's like Sucker Punch. Duration lasts from 5 to 50 seconds (most likely) based on level difference.

Traded for something equally delicious.

How often does it flare?

Wow, 50m for this, good luck, I never would have guessed that is the value.

Has it been confirmed that if used in the offhand with TWC that the flare will hit before the main hand?

Also, have you checked on MStrike and berserk?

what about hurling, how is it affected by that?

50m seems a pretty reasonable start to me. If it had been 20, it would have just jumped up there sooner or later.

It will not, unfortunately.

The flares are a little less frequent than standard elemental flares, and it won't re-flare on a bound target, but you can have multiple targets bound at the same time.

It does flare when MStriking and Berserking.

You rage across the battlefield, striking with unrelenting fury!
As you swing your golvern knife, it flares.
A lesser orc suddenly stops all movement.

You swing a grooved golvern knife at a lesser orc!
AS: +91 vs DS: -3 with AvD: +22 + d100 roll: +62 = +178
... and hit for 29 points of damage!
Well aimed shot, punctures calf!
The lesser orc is stunned!
You swing a grooved golvern knife at a lesser orc!
AS: +91 vs DS: +56 with AvD: +22 + d100 roll: +51 = +108
... and hit for 2 points of damage!
Quick feint to the lesser orc's right foot.
Little extra damage.
You are beginning to feel a little fatigued.

With instinctive motions, you weave to and fro striking with deliberate and unrelenting fury!
You swing a grooved golvern knife at a lesser orc!
AS: +45 vs DS: +110 with AvD: +22 + d100 roll: +54 = +11
A clean miss.
As you swing your golvern knife, it flares.
A lesser orc suddenly stops all movement.

You swing a grooved golvern knife at a lesser orc!
AS: +45 vs DS: -3 with AvD: +22 + d100 roll: +7 = +77
A clean miss.

Your flurry of strikes leaves you off-balance and out of position.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

A flare that activates before and regardless of endroll is absurd, let alone one that has as detrimental an effect as bind (i.e. complete negation of epb ds). It's well worth the 50m mb.

I'm almost tempted to sell shit to purchase this.

Off the top of my head, the only other flares that I can think of that activate regardless of endroll (that effect combat) are the Sleep and Nightmare flares from the moonphase broadswords.

However, they activate after the attack resolves.

I'm with Droit. Pre-attack flare, and bind? High value indeed.

50m

I was wondering who'd be first. I regret that I don't use daggers.

Edit: Hm. But then, that's the thing, isn't it? You DON'T need to use OHE to use this dagger. In fact, you could swing it from defensive stance and get a bind ... Jesus.

You could always start. I'd buy your main THW from you.

I doubt you'd want to pay the price I'd charge if I ever decided to sell the briarsword.

I was thinking it would be perfect to hamstring with.

Prone, then bind your target when it flares.

Edit: It would be bind, then prone I guess.

It's a shame it doesn't work in conjunction with CMan's, but getting the 30 point bonus to your CMan attempt for a bound target ain't too shabby in conjunction with the "Swing like mad in defensive" technique.

Bid updated.
