I'm going to test the waters here. I have a whittling knife, like the kind Kali had. For those not familiar, you take a ranger imbued wand or rod, and can whittle various deity/animal/insect imbedibles. They come in a few different varieties such as symbols, figurines, charms (they become pin worn), etc. You "learn" as you use the knife and your carvings gain better descriptors as you become more skilled.

I'm not certain that I want to part with it, but given the number of fun items being thrown around right now I figured I'd see if anyone was interested. I would prefer a trade of something equally rare, but I would consider outrageous coin offers.

A clip of the knife from 1st and 2nd person views will follow.

Your knife responds, almost as if by magic, slicing easily through the rod with graceful strokes.
Roundtime: 36 sec.

As you work, an unfinished deer figurine begins to take shape.

You finish with a flourish and hold up a beautiful deer figurine for everyone to appreciate!
Roundtime: 10 sec.

Ayas whittles quickly and easily, the knife slicing through the rod with sure, graceful strokes.

Do the rods/wands retain there abilities after whittling?

They have to be blank when you whittle them. You would then imbed as normal, I assume.

The charms it makes are wearable too! :)

Unless something has changed finished product become normal crumbly 40 mana imbeds. The true value of these knives was in carving the rechargable rods rangers used to be able to make into wearbales, or if ya got unlucky non wearables I suppose.

That is the real bitch of the situation right now. I'm sure at the time it made sense, but these items do need to be brought up to GS4 standards.

Since rangers no longer make rechargable rods to my knowledge I can see these being upgraded to store the proper mana, makes little to no sense for them not to really.

The amount of coin worth I'm sure comes from the mechanical ability Ardwen is talking about here, but I just wanted to put out there I think this is one of the coolest RP items in game. Good luck with your offers.

Its value lies in Kali owned one, basically all rangers and many other revered Kali, owning one gets you closer to her. Kali was about the best person I ever met in this game.
