Ok, i'm not one for inspirational stories and what not... But for those of you that know me WELL, know that when i was 16 years old I topped scales at over 200lbs and size 18 pants. Right now I'm at 5'5 1/2 140 and a size 9. But for my Graduation I wanna be 125. Which is June 10th. Now i know that sounds extreame. 15lbs in a lil over a month but I know that when I tell other people about my commitments I stick to them better and I figured telling all you guys, I'd get the support I need!!! I don't think I'm fat, I don't want you guys getting me wrong thinking i'm extreamly insecure with my body. But I want the body I've always DREAMED of having.. for one summer. Just one summer. And feel confortable with a bikini on. Anyways... Thanks for listening! I plan on taking before and after photos and everything.. I'm shooting for 1000 cals a day and less then 15g of fat a day (no sugar whatsoever) and doubles at the gym. Wish me luck!!!!!!

Weight is irrelevant when it's in the right location.
That said, people who actually care enough about how much they weigh to control it should reconsider their state of living.

Yeah thats because your tiny... you don't understand what it's like being overweight/fat

120 != Tiny. But you're right, I don't, because it's all muscle.

How does 120 not equal tiny?
Bobmuhthol
05-03-2004, 10:31 PM
Fine. I'm tiny.
I can still kick major ass.
Well, just IM me everyday asking if you should go work out or not eat choclate and i'll be sure to give you the proper motivational words.

She's got bigger guns than RangerD hahahahahahaha.
15 pounds in a month isn't too bad. Just don't starve yourself and don't exercise like a fool without pounding water.

To drop the weight you've already lost speaks volumes, Jenisi. Good luck in your quest! :)
What I do want to add, though..is that make sure your goal weight is ideal for you. I say that cause as you already mentioned, you have muscle. Muscle = pounds in some case so you could have the sweetest body in the world..trim and tone in all the right places but still be 130-140 lbs. It depends on your body type...just something to keep in mind because it's the look of your body that you're going for it seems..so don't put too much emphasis on what the scale says. ;)

If you find something that works, let me know. ;)
I've been running 2 miles every weekday in the morning for the past month, eating more protein and less carbs....haven't eaten after 7:30 in that time period....
and I think I've lost maybe 5 pounds. It's a bit depressing. But good luck, and I recommend running. I am actually starting to enjoy it now, at least.

Damn girl way to go! I'm hoping to get myself down to 130 if I can. I found a gym buddy to motivate me to get off my ass and work out. Now I just have to eat wisely and start drinking more water instead of iced tea loaded with sugar. Someone mentioned that muscle does weigh more than fat so you might want to have your fat ratio checked by someone at the gym, they can do that for you and tell you whether you're in a healthy range.
If I could just loose the pudge at my abdomen it will be all good for this summer.

<<Someone mentioned that muscle does weigh more than fat>>
Muscle is approximately three times as dense as fat.

a quick weight loss solution is to pick up some form of tobacco use. Drug-related intervention can also help remove some extra bulk. I highly recommend a powerful stimulant, combined with another powerful stimulant, combined with another powerful stimulant, combined with another powerful stimulant...

Why don't you just come out and suggest smoking crack, Stanley? <mutter>
DON'T listen to Stanley. I'm sure you already knew that but I just had to say it anyway.

Good job on losing the weight. Don't try to lose it too fast, but I'd say about 10 pounds is reasonable. You look fine at a size nine, and don't push it too much, because you don't want to look too thin.;) Size isn't everything, it's about looking healthy!:)
I've been a size 26 and I've been a size 3, and have settled about a 16 at the moment..heh. Some see that as being fat, but they'll have to get over it.;), mainly because I'm happy where I am(well, maybe I'd like to be a 12.:smirk)

You can calculate your BMI here (http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm)...lets you know how much of your body is fat, basically.

Stanley, just STFU! Do NOT be using these boards to promote drug use. That is just plain stupid!
I know Jenisi is smarter than that, so I will not worry about her taking you seriously.

Jenisi, you should be very proud for having lost the weight you have lost. As others have pointed out, muscle weighs more than fat, so do not try to take your weight down TOO far. :)

120 pounds is like a medium-sized college cheerleader (female). Bob = Wuss.

5'5 and 140 isn't bad, really. I'd prefer 5'5 and 130 over someone that was 5'5 and 100 lbs, there's no point in being so skinny that someone can fit their hands around your waist.
1000 calories a day...? I can put that away at lunch....eesh, being a girl must suck.

My weight gain prevention strategy, for the last 11 or so years...
One meal a day (dinner).
I may snack in the afternoon (chips, ice cream, cheeze-its, whatever) if I'm hungry.
I ensure that I get my nutrients with multi-vits before bed.
As for my energy level, I got plenty for when playing sports and other such recreational activities.
.
I would speculate that the reason why Americans in general seem to be having an obseity crisis... is not necessary because of lack of exercise (which would surely help) ... but the regular eating of 3 meals a day, even if not hungry, because been "programmed" to eat 3 meals a day.
I'd say that most people should stick with "brunch" and dinner.

As long as I don't eat past 6 or 7pm, I'm fine. Eating late is a crucial part of at least not gaining weight and maintaining.
I'm not a believer of not eating much. You actually should eat a few small portions throughout the day, rather than one large meal. Your body's metabolism works best when it has fuel to work with. Having it wait around for food just makes it feed off other things, and it's not always fat, sometimes it's muscle.
I think you're on the right track though, and I agree with some others who say that you shouldn't judge your health by the scale. You have good tone and muscle which weighs more than fat, so you may be at your ideal body already. 125 on me makes me look anorexic because of my medium frame and large chest and hips. It will never happen. 140 is actually the best weight for me. Now for me to get there is another story. :D
Oh by the way, just because I'm overweight doesn't mean I don't know what it takes to lose weight. I'm just LAZY.

I eat 4+ meals a day.

Playing with the numbers on that site... how can someone who's 6' tall and 137 pounds be normal weight? That just seems weird to me.
For my height (5'11) anything over 178 is overweight.
kthx

And yes, healthy and a little heavier is way more hot than spindly uber model girl.

137 pounds is not normal weight for 6'. I know this because there's no way I'm anything but underweight, and I'm 150. The problem with BMI is it doesn't take into account how much muscle mass a particular person has, so people with more than average muscle are scored as overweight/obese.

Wow, HN told Stanley to STFU. Too funny.
Good luck though. I enjoy eating too much, to ever go on a diet. I will cry myself to sleep if I ever go on a diet. But, if you got the will power, GOOD LUCK!

Diet sux mostly because your body REMEMBERS when it was lacking nutriments.
More you diet, more you body remember and make reserves.
Best way is simply living your life to the fullest without making obsession.
Cut the salt too,
I just put myself back on my work out plan. last 2 years of school I've just been drinkin beer and gettin fat. Now I'm runnin 4 miles and workin out 3 times a week. The last 2 months I've lost 6 pounds. Tryin to lose about 35 which would put me back at my fightin weight of 250.

It means whatever it means for that person.
Hey, if you want to make love to twiggy, knock yourself out.
There are lots of shapes and sizes out there.
I'd rather be strong than super skinny. I used to be skinnier, could fit into a size 2, but I like being 4/5 and able to run longer and faster than my boyfriend's modeling cousins. And I could backfist them through a wall. ;) That helps, too.
Jenisi

I'm not talking about being a twig guys.. I hope you all understand that. I want the excess off.. And my body has a hard time loosing it because i've been overweight my entire life.. I guess its used to it being there? Anyway.. A size 6 i'd be very happy with. I'm not trying to be a 1, 2, or 3.. and I don't want my ribs clearly visable lol. I think a thicker girl is sexier any day of the week. Anyway.. yeah, i'm strong as hell too.
