the 606 self knowledge dagger has sold for 50m or so, I'd say this is maybe 25? May be misremembering the dagger though.

I think the self knowledge 606 dagger went for more....
606 isn't impossible to find on a scroll.
You would have to be outside to use it (rift).
That said, 25 mil would probably be at the top of the spectrum, maybe 10 mil MB, 25 mil BO.

I want to get back the 606 dagger if someone is willing to sell.
I'd definitely bid on this, and the 10m mb is fairly sound.

I think it is worth more than 25.

Auction it. This spell is in massive demand. 10 MB is good, but don't set a buyout for a few days.

Can someone explain the difference between this and self knowledge?

Self knowledge = unlimited uses

ie when you hold it, 606 shows up under spells for you.

Self knowledge is not quite the same as unlimited use. It requires recharging at the AG.

Self-knowledge is literally what it sounds like. It is as if you learned the spell via your training. Unfortunately, that has the downside of you having only 1 rank in the spell circle, so you will receive the base duration. There are however some very big positives. As so long as you keep the self-knowledge item active (as in wearing it or holding it), you will have no outside knowledge lore-penalty. Meaning your lore knowledge will apply just as if you were natively casting the spell. Usually you face a 1/2 penalty for Major Elemental/Spiritual, and a 2/3 penalty for Profession circle lores. Also, as mentioned, you wont have the spell count against you (as much) in a spellburst area, or have it stripped in the rift, though that is ONLY if you keep the enhancive active. You can't just wear/hold it, cast, then put it away, and keep the lore/self-knowledge bonus.
I would put the BO at atleast 30. 10 mill per use sounds about right. I have a feeling with all the coin out there, though, it would get snatched up at that price rather quickly.

For stackable spells I believe you can get around the shitty base duration by having someone Rapidfire you first.

Can you explain that a little further?

I think what he means is that many spells have a base duration of lets say 20 minutes.
If you have a self knowledge item like 606 when you cast it you only get the base duration plus having the 1 spell rank.
If someone rapid fires you, you can throw on 3-4 hours very quickly without having to care about casting the spell 12 times.

Just curious, if you use rapid fire with a self-knowledge item and you put the item away thus removing the spell from your list does rapid fire still continue to let you cast the spell?

Yes. The rapidfire is preparing the spell instead of the enhancive.
