a deep blue twin crossbow with glaes shard accents
>look crossb
Examining the top crossbow you see that it is not cocked.
Examining the bottom crossbow you see that it is not cocked.

Fire two bolts at once. Robin hood style.

value?

I don't think it fires two at once, I think you can just fire it twice right away without cocking it. I may be wrong, can't remember.

You fire one side and then TURN it, I think, and can fire the other side. Both sides still need to be cocked and loaded individually.

With a twist of your wrist you flip your twin crossbow over.

You would appear to be correct. So... the value is in the ability to precock two bolts.

Precocking- there's value in that.

I've been told in the past they've sold for at least 16m+

I had a 5x one back in 2005-2006 that I sold for 8m eventually. That was then, though. I'd suspect someone might pay 2-3m, maybe more.

I might give you a few million for it. Good backup weapon. What's it weigh?

One sold in 04 for 20m

Maybe, but they aren't player enchantable, aren't pp enchantable (can't do recursive searching since they are 2+ items) and hasn't been a merchant to do PP enchanting or padding for odd items in years (bandoliers, shell armor and these come to mind).

It would be a backup thing for me, pulled out for an emergency.

There are a lot more coins in the lands now than in 04, of course, a lot more bows too.

Paul, didn't CCF do enchanting? And one recent EG? As I recall.

There have been enchanting services, but the rules still apply to which items can be enchanted.

They aren't player enchantable, and rarely merchant enchantable. They're hardly alterable, and are difficult to lighten, so you'll be a bit irritated in trying to change it at all.

The crossbow market was plausible and strong back in 04, with the sephwir and ipantor bows being fresh and new. Beyond that, dual crossbows were hip and one of the very few crossbows with cool scripts.

At any rate, if it's a heavy dual, you're looking at 2m per +5 enchant nowish. For light, split that in half and pray.

how do I know if mine is light or heavy?

They're hardly alterable...

I had mine altered without any problems about a week ago, save for the fact that both sides need to be altered or you end up with two different descriptions when you TURN it.

As an added note, the only restriction I was told on the alter was that the short description had to involve either "twin" or "double" somehow.

I'll give you 3m for it

Though they are rather... fail, I've been wanting one for quite a while

Eh, nvm, found some other cool bow to buy... though if you want to sell it for 3m hit me up

That is a new development, then. I was told unless I won a session or multiple work ticket (or spent 1200 premium points), I would not see an alteration on its description due to both sides needing the same treatment.

I was also told that you would not be allowed to have varying descriptions, which is also terribly odd.

This was approximately a year and a half ago, but I don't know why policy would've up and changed so quickly.

Seriously...it's not like they've given a damn about customer service in their near 20 year history. Why start now.

Well, the droughtman yesterday was a douche and would not make me a morning star, the droughtman today was awesome, made me a morning star, and gave me an epic RP reward where a fried head gave me 20k exp... probably different people.

Vast amounts of "policy" is just GMs chatting and always has been.
