Okay, so, I have a ripped version of Pulp Fiction (BUT IT R OKZ CUZ I HAVE DVD) and I do not have a DVD burner, so it's going onto a data CD. The problem is the computer it's being played on doesn't have DivX so I'm wondering if there's a DivX installer or if it's a single file or whatever else i need to know. It's going to have to go on the CD and be installed, too, so is there a certain directory it has to be in?
<---- sux at watching movies legally

You can download divx from www.divx.com and watch movies off of data CD's with 0 problems. That's how I watch my episodes of the tick, the IRL version not the cartoon, (pity that show died it was hilarious)

I used Nimo Codec Pack, even includes a divx player.

Also some new dvd players claim to be able to play divx :)
Bob, dvd burners that are 8x, YES 8!!! Are now well under 200 bucks, they rock, and I dupe all my dvd's so if they get scratched I have a copy. I would never copy all of my friends, or rent and copy though, cause thats just not cool, and immoral. Or is that immortal? Bah I always mix those two up ::smirk::

All I need is the player, so a 5MB install file from divx.com is fine with me.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious (yet useful), Anticor.

Hey Bob ... I don't know you at all but ...
I'm assuming that you are a white supremacist. Is that true?

I've never assumed Bob was supreme at anything actually.

Because he has song lyrics in his sig?
What's this have to do with DivX?

That or the line 'Victory exceeds humanity,' which I think is such a badass phrase.
DivX still kix azz. And, apparently, Nero can encode movies and make them playable on DVD players. Too bad it takes like two hours.

I'd wait 2 hours for something that works in a regular player. Hell I remember my first DVD burner I'd set that bitch up and go to sleep and in the morning it would be done heh.
I agree with that phrase, reminds me of Ender's game. The individual doesn't matter when it comes to the survival of the species. It was true, is true, and will always remain true.

I take full credit for coming up with it and give credit to dictionary.com for the translation.
Edited to point out that Prestius is worse than white supremacists because he assumes anyone that has German in his signature and/or a tribute to a German man is a white supremacist.
Edited again to correct the spelling of supremacist.

Sorry .. didn't really mean to hijack this thread - since I have no useful information on Divx -- but after seeing Bob's sig over and over in all manner of threads I had to ask, And .. BTW Bob, you should note that I did ask about my assumption and not just conclude iit outright.
You can't be naive enough the think that Rudolph Hess is "just some German guy". Since you're looking things up, you may want to look him up too, and then perhaps you'll understand why I asked. You may want to think about the message you are sending by having a tribute to him in your sig.
Just something to think about.
