need a shield and some help with bard training

so i am switching my bard to use Voln FU from Swinging a maul. So i need a 5-6x large shield

also i have a few questions about training
i know nothing of the mechanics of bards and bardsong

I will have 105 extra PTPs and 34 extra MTPs after the change and know nothing about what to spend them on outside of a ranks of climbing/swiming and maybe some perception any suggestions
what lores outside of air lore should i be looking at and should i worry about that if i am not using a sonic shield any time soon?

The base shield bonus is +10. For every two Bard spellsongs known, a bonus of +1 is added to the base shield bonus, for a maximum bonus of +35. For example, a level 20 Bard that knows 15 Bard spellsongs would sing a sonic shield with a bonus of +18.
