I'd be almost tempted to keep it, because it is purple lightning....
As you rub the violet mithril ring, a spark of pomegranate purple electricity builds in your right hand.

As you rub the violet mithril ring, a spark of amethyst purple electricity builds in your left hand.

You glance down to see a writhing purple spark in your right hand and a writhing purple spark in your left hand.

As your move your hand to rid it of the pomegranate spark of lightning, the purple electricity drops to the ground and spiders out, before vanishing.

You bring your left index finger to the spark in your right hand and dramatically begin tapping it. Each time you draw your finger away, a spoke of purple lightning stretches between you and the spark.
The ball of orchid lightning shrinks and grows in you hand.
>turn spark
You bring your left index finger to the spark in your right hand and begin moving it in a stirring motion. The purple lightning begins to spin faster then your finger and you pull it out. Shards of heliotrope lightning whirl and the spark flattens into a pancake from its own force.
Moments later it calms and returns to its normal chaotic form.
You toss your purple spark from your right hand into the air before catching it again in your left hand.

You glance at a writhing purple spark in your hand as if it really needs a hug.

You pucker up and blow a kiss at the purple spark in your hand.

You lift the spark of lightning to your face and attempt to swallow it. The miniature ball of lightning expands and covers your face. Slowly you manage to suck the energy into your mouth and begin making an exaggerated chewing motion.
