Hip-hop star Nate Dogg died Tuesday after battling health issues for several years. Nate Dogg -- real name Nathaniel D. Hale -- had survived strokes in 2007 and 2008 ... and was famous for his smooth vocal collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Warren G. and Dr. Dre to name a few.

The Press Telegram in Nate's hometown of Long Beach, CA first reported his death late Tuesday night.

Nate was 41 years old.

I'm shifty, versus runnin' a buck 50
Tryin' to get large enough bank to get Britney
I'ma do Britney like Bobby did Whitney
Fuck her whole life off, donate my kidney (Yeah!)
Wake up to vodka, crash with the whiskey
My name holdin' to much weight, you can't lift me

Oh mourn ye humanity the loss of a great poet!?!

Or not.

Good riddance to bad lyrics.

This would probably matter alot more if I knew who or what Nate Dogg was. Or if he at least had some recognizable talent.

Nate Dogg is Snoop's cousin, the two started together in a group called 213 with Warren G who was a neighbor. Its a sad day, may he continue to Regulate in heaven. RIP Nate Dogg.

Nate Dogg and Warren G were the shit, perhaps Nate was best known for Regulators, a song he did with Warren G....which is why people keep saying a regulator has moved on to the clearing at the end of the path.

all I think of when you say regulators is one of the wyatt earpp films, and I am pretty sure noone name dogg was in any of those.

We get it. You don't know who Nate Dogg is. You don't bother with proper spelling or grammar. You don't have any background in the hip-hop or rap scene. Next thread. Thanks.

Plus im pretty sure the regulators was Young Guns. If Wyatt Earp showed up and shot someone in that I must have been taking a piss.

I posted the greatest Nate Dogg song above (Regulate), but here's what I consider his second best, ft. Mos Def and Pharoahe Monch:
