a small dark parchment charm inked with elemental runes
read charm
You focus on the six runes inked on the surface of the dark parchment charm.
You note the composition of the runes, identifying them to be edaay'rov, edaso'rov, edarov'rov, acpu'ul, acth'ul and acstr'ul.
You manage to decipher the following runes:
(401) Elemental Defense I
(406) Elemental Defense II
(414) Elemental Defense III
(503) Thurfel's Ward
(507) Elemental Deflection
(509) Strength
I'm told you can attach this to your runestaff and cast spells from it like it were a scroll, if anyone has any other information about this and could share I'd appreciate it.

Where'd you get this? Usually those charms are only 1 spell.
100k, though.

You're thinking of a different set of charms (at an EG, the same one that released the shadowy black velvet pouches with the ninja smoke bombs). These came out the year after the ones you're thinking of, and came in a couple flavors. My mage had a lot of the 100s one (101, 102, 103, 107), they were pretty badass.
For what it's worth, the staff you attach it to can't be scripted or it won't take.

Does this work of total charges for the rune or just like a scroll in that it has X charges per spell?

x charges per spell.

I'll go out on a limb and say no, but I never actually tried. Regardless, that particular thing is fresh (it's not on anything, so yea) and it's going to have a pretty healthy dose of each spell on it. I think the higher level ones had fewer charges if I remember right, but my experience is based on the one that had Bravery on it, so it might have been specific to the spell.
Also, I tracked it down: this particular version of charm was at EG 07.

It's a nice find for an empath or cleric, regardless. Sick little trinket. Once the charges wear out, how does one remove it? Or how does one remove it so merchant work could be added to the runestaff?

If I didn't have over 200 uncharged scrolls that came from Tsin's locker, I'd be bidding my heart out.

Some runestaves, regardless of scripting, won't take the charm, FYI. I had this happen to a 5x vanilla lor runestaff. The GMs just said, "dunno".

They work like scrolls so burn up and disappear when depleted. Not sure they could be removed prior to that but I haven't used one in a while.

I've tried, with multiple means (including my book), the answer is firmly no.
