View Full Version : Droughtman's services for sale
Vultieri

Vultieri is running in the first run on Sunday but I can't run in any of the semifinals. In an attempt to make some extra silvers from not winning, the following services are for sale.
No zap list. A note for 200k handed to Vultieri before the event. Vultieri will yell who has paid at the beginning of the run.
Key purchases. Vultieri will sell any key he finds to the first player to ask for it for 1M if gold and 100k if any other key.
Exception (on both no zap and key purchases). Passage through the white door. If Vultieri is standing outside the white door with a gold key, it costs you 3M, and you must have posted in this thread, or yelled when you first went into the maze, that you intend to buy your way past him.
If Vultieri gets to the door with the key first, and no-one has indicated they want to buy passage past him, he will go through the door (and one of the semi-final prizes will get kept by simu). If anyone has indicated they want to buy, he will defend the door against all others.
Other forms of collusion may be purchased (post what you want to buy and how many silvers you are offering to pay for it), but any offers accepted will be made public so that the watchers can factor it into any bets they make.

You may want to list your stats/skills. I believe offensive spells aren't allowed for runners, so if you're a caster all you can offer is not to wand them. Also, don't yell that you're working openly with others. The blockers will team up on you/your associates. Finally, you CANNOT go through the door if you have already won.

It's not like winning this thing gets you a better prize..

It's not like winning this thing gets you a better prize..
It gets you a free second prize, and increases your odds of winning the grand prize. So at a minimum, winning is instantly saving 30 dollars.
I'll take your white door offer, I think we're in the run together.

Entrepreneurial, at least.

Will the gm's have a hissy fit if they find out about this? Didn't people in the DR run get caught for collusion?
edit: which isn't to say I don't like the idea.

It would be stupid if they did care. That's what blockers are for, and he isn't a blocker.

They tell the blockers not to collude with each other, especially against one player, but didn't tell the players that.
people in DR got in trouble for rigging the betting system. Somewhat different.

Have the non-gold keys been changed to being useful in any way? When I ran they didn't even unlock the like-colored doors and Solomon mentioned he was looking into giving them some useful ability.

If you're not cheating, you're not trying.

It's obvious Sirina will read this. Yesterday, she responded directly to a question I asked in the other Droughtman's thread in less than 6 hours from when I wrote it here. Rest assured, they will be responding to this in the form of an announcement on the officials if they don't want it to happen. I'd say if you don't see a Sirina post before tomorrow, then this isn't against the rules.
I don't much care for it, but it's entrepreneurial.

This is about as useful as buying insurance against ebola - don't waste your silvers, its way too frantic to be able to actually find him and get the key from him, and zapping is ultimately irrelevant
(this is just my opinion but Ive run it twice)
edit:
Ok I thought about how it might work - when everyone is teleported together he could HAND you his key, that might work - but still 3m for something like that is RIDIC, considering most people seem to get keys around the same time, and the odds of him getting it before you have to be negligible.

I was able to use them to open their like color doors fine in my run... I was in the eleventh run I believe. Command was "unlock door with my key"

You need to be possessive: open door with MY red key, etc.

I am sorry to say, but I really hope The GM running Droughtman comes down hard on the person trying to sell these services.

Why sour it for other people to make a few silvers? Get a real job.

RL distractions mean I am going to be able to sit there and grab my prize at best today. No fees taken or services provided.
Maybe another run.

That is all I was offering. This would be Vultieri's first run.
Do you think it is better to fix the betting than this sort of open thing?

Unfortunately, I am not going to be in a position to deliver on this today. (not that there was more than a small chance anyway, but 3M for a semifinal prize has to be a good deal if the luck of the maze turned out that way)

I think its a great deal if you only got paid if you handed someone the key - in most runs 5 - 7 people don't even sniff a key, odds are that an individual doesn't.

So you got irl issues. Doesnt mean you gotta take a piss on the spirit of the event.
