Who do you prefer, like better, or think is funnier?

Jon Stewart. Plus, he's sexy.

Jon Stewart. I like Colbert and all but I think he tries too hard. Also I know it's part of his 'character' to be so full of himself but he's entirely too full of himself.

I agree to some degree. I like Colbert and I don't mind the full of himself bit. I just hate how he has guests on and never lets them speak really. He's constantly interrupting them.

I find Colbert to be just as funny, but I really enjoy Stewart's whole "Really?" outlook towards the ridiculous shit people do.

I prefer Colbert, I constantly laugh when I watch the Colbert Report. When I watch The Daily Show, once in a while I'll find something humorous.

I love when Colbert interrupts his guests with some smart ass rhetoric, adds some life to the conversation.

I like Colbert more because he's more in line with my sense of humor. But Stewart gets better guests.

Colbert's book, "I am America, and So Can You" was a hoot. Highly recommend it :)

When Colbert did that show, about the BP oil spill, Robert Green's fuck up at the world Cup

was something like

The oil is the ball, The coast line is the goal, and BP's Oil containment/control plan is Robert Green.

I couldn't stop laughing for 3 days.

actually, anyone know what episode that was? I can't remember.

I get annoyed with Colbert after awhile. He does his angry riled up conservative bit too well for a dyed-in-the-wool liberal like me.

The opposite of this.

I like them both but I find Stewart's more intelligent approach to mockery to be just a bit funnier and more attractive so he gets my vote.

Stewart is funnier. I've tried to like Colbert on his show but he was alot better when he was only doing skits.

I like them both and I feel like I have to watch both in order to really enjoy them because they're like two sides to the same "fake news" coin. John's show is the more serious and witty approach, while Stephen's is the less serious and more extreme parody [usually]. Overall I think Colbert is funnier though. I follow his Twitter as well and it's really funny, although the @GayObama Twitter The Daily Show started is pretty damn hilarious.

I have really enjoyed the extended interview thing they've started on The Daily Show as well.

I'd personally like to see the numbers on how many people watch TDS, and then how many watch the extended interviews online. I try and catch them online, but sometimes I just don't have the time, or forget.

I go back and forth, I think I get more straight lols from Colbert, and I don't think for a second that he's full of himself, but that he really fucking enjoys playing that character. IC and out he still pushes charities and tons of good shit constantly. I think, all in all, the Report goes to places that the Daily Show won't.

Sometimes Stewart's mannerisms grate me, I mean, I fucking love the guy but some of his shticks have hit the wall.

Stewart's interviews are 1000% more watchable than Colbert's "we're both in on this joke, we're going to play along with it." But the extra-curricular bits where Colbert goes and talks to people NOT on his set are unmissable television.

It's a real fucking tossup for me.

But... I still think I have seen every Daily Show for the last 2 years, and I've definitely missed a handful of Colberts.

The Daily Show is the rock upon which Comedy Central was built. That alone is worth some pretty significant points. (Don't bother mentioning Kilborn. He blew.)

I actually like Stewart better, although Colbert is really fun to watch as well. I just love Colbert's little elf ear. His right ear is oddly shaped to me, and I can't help but look at it all the time and it distracts me from what he's saying.
I can't say that I like both men equally because for me Stewart is a bit more entertaining, and I'd tune into one of his shows before Colbert's.

At first I used to watch The Daily Show only following it up with the Colbert Report once in a while. I felt that he was funnier in small doses. When he first started I think he took himself and his character a bit too seriously. In the past year I have come to enjoy Stephen Colbert humor more and more.

They are, as are most comedians, modern day jesters. Performing not only to amuse us but also criticize our government, our culture and ourselves.

He's also deaf in his right ear, if memory serves.

Jon Stewart has nearly eclipsed being a comedian and is moving towards journalist with occasional comedic acts. I buy nearly every other book that he gives an interview with the author about (and judging by the fact that even people who don't like him/are scared of his power show up to hawk their book, I'd bet their book sales are dramatically affected by this). So, I definitely like his show more, although it isn't as funny as it used to be. If I want laughs with occasional journalistic wit, I watch Colbert.

I wish they both would pick different stories though...it is kind of annoying to watch both straight through and they pick 3 or 4 of the same national stories and react similarly to them.

Stewart's humor is a bit more cerebral, while Colbert's drops that down a few notches. I believe that this is genius television programming on CC's part. They figure that after people get to the end of The Daily Show the weed/booze has really kicked in and folks will have trouble following the jokes, so they take it down a notch. This is one instance where having the funnier comedian go first works.

If I were forced to pick one I would go with Stewart, he is brilliant. Colbert interrupting people during interviews just makes me think he is not smart enough to hold his own in a spontaneous interview situation.
