I'm debating taking my 97 human paladin back to a cleric, the cost is $200.

Stats, skills, fixskills, society, everything aside. Would a 97 cleric be worth $200 more then a 97 paladin?

Did you convert him at 97? If you restore him, they'll give him back to you exactly as he was when you converted. If that was level 40, then you'll get a level 40 cleric.
