CMAN: Innate Awareness
Duration: Passive
Ranks: 3
Available to: All
Costs: Standard ROI

Description: By honing one's sense of observation, one can heighten their perceptive abilities beyond what is normally possible. The benefits are numerous, and include increased effectiveness with aiming projectile weapons, increased chance to spot pickpocket attempts (and avoid the marks traps), spotting and reducing the danger of incoming ambushes (both CMANs from hiding and AS/DS resolutions), and locating hidden objects and people. Specifically, the CMAN will knock 1 second off of search RT for items/people in hiding per rank, which will be especially useful to archers/hurlers looking for their ammo.

Justification: There are currently three primary ways which one can increase their effectiveness at stealth, including magical (Colors, Unpresence, etc), through CMANs (Shadow Mastery), and straight training (Stalking & Hiding). There are only two primary means of increasing ones perception (Presence and Perception training). This would help tilt the balance back towards being even, while providing a useful CMAN for archers/hurlers to train in.

I really like it, and don't think it's overpowering. Characters definitely need a way to help fend off ambushes, whether from CvC or CvE.

I wanted to try to balance it on both sides of the equation. It will help reduce ambush pushdowns, but it will also help archers aim for eye shots better. It will help spot thieves, but thieves can spot PP traps better, etc.

If it'll knock seconds off sniping then it might be overpowered along with everything else it does.

Wouldn't this make it possible to drop down to 0 RT?

A Wizard/Rogue team would own so hard with this.

Searching, not sniping.

Love it. Would definitely have my paladin train in it for bandits.

Should call it spidey sense though.

5 ranks unlocks the post-title "Dr. Strange".

I like it. Well balanced and useful. I hope it doesn't just equate to some phantom perception ranks, though.

The Eye of Agamotto appears on your forehead and lights up the area to help you find hidden things? I like it.

I like it too. Bandit tasks suck for EVERYONE not wearing full plate. This could help a bit but it's also not 100% necessary.
