lich issue/question

I tried to download 4.2.7 from the site but when I go to open it, it does nothing. I'm currently running 4.1.48 =/
I've tried uninstalling ruby/lich and reinstalling them. so far 4.1.48 is all that would start up, but it wont update from there. running Vista :(

just went step by step on the g.f.'s laptop and it has the same lich not opening issue.. do I need a newer version of ruby or something? When I double click I get the computer thinking for a second icon then nothing...

ok I just went and formatted my fucking comp, went step by step, ran everything as admin EXCEPT lich.rb because apparently windows doesn't think it's a fucking program.... I have the options of Open..or Open with..and ruby interpreter 1.8.6... neither of which actually Open the file and let it install.
when I double click it gives me the I'm thinking icon for about half a second then says fuck it.
I think lich is going to end up in me on a murdering rampage in a few hours here

fixed... fucking vista..
I 'thought' i was changing it to .rb when in reality windows was AUTOMATICALLY HIDING KNOWN EXTENSIONS because apparently people can't handle seeing file extensions..so when I was renaming to lich.rb it was making a file lich.rb.rbw ... God I could kick bill gates in the teeth
however lich is running normally... Now my blood can return to regular temperature... fuck vista
