Alright, since I havent seen any threads for doing taxes this year.. lets start one and open up the happy and bitchy comments regarding taxes this year!


About to go to a tax professional to get an opinion on how to file my taxes this year.


Fun facts for my taxes:

Divorce finalized in in second half of year
Have unemployment income
Have child support
Have very little income
Started small business in January
Business P&L to carry over into my taxes


Using turbo tax estimator, it claims I could get some money back, but it didnt ask for any child support information, which is disconcerning :(

I enjoy doing taxes, but I Think this year is a bit more difficult.

Also, I googled the info on child support, looks like we get fucked again and cant deduct it. WTF.

I reported 300 dollars in income and got back......more than 10x that amount. Yay Obama. I almost feel guilty taking it, but I figure I'll donate a good bit to Republican or Independent Campaigns.
