View Full Version : President & VP to testify
Bush & Cheney are to speak before the 9/11 commission today.
1) The Pres. & Cheney insisted on appearing together.
2) They insisted no cameras be present. 3) They also insisted that there be no transcript or recordings.
4) They declined to appear under oath.
No other President has had a problem testifying before similar bodies, and they did so without the assistance of a puppet master. Bush can go in there and say anything and there will be no record to call him on later. Though I believe notes are allowed. In all honesty we were sucker punched with a sneak attack that would have been hard to detect even if all the agencies that had tidbits of information did work together. So my question is why are they being so secretive about this.
discuss.

As it is an election year... they probably wanted to make sure that anything that they unintentionally say (true or not) doesn't get used against them.
Just like how John Kerry has been captured, thinking that his mic was off, saying stuff like "those damn Republicans are behind this!" in intended private conversations.
Clinton and others are not running for President, so they don't have to worry about any adverse effects of such flubs.

Thats not true, he is there to assist in the coverup. Little do we know, Sadam was actually a alien, and Iraq has been overrun and is now the basecamp for the alien invasion. Theyre keeping it on wraps to keep rioting and worldwide panic under control. The "War" is merely a coverup to hide the fact were trying to destroy their landing zones

Heh, I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry knew the mic was still on. He's trying very hard to combat the "soft liberal" stereotype, yanno.
As for the Pres./Vice Pres. appearing together? I think I'm out of opinions. I'm too tired of them to care any more. I blame all of you at the PC.

I think many republicans in office (rightfully) fear the backlash that could be generated by such testimony right now. Clinton lied about sleeping with some chick and getting his goods; he was impeached.
If Bush or Cheney said ANYTHING that even IMPLIED the oval office might have intentially or not acted negligently, that contradicts the "I had no idea" defense that's been used since the beginning. That's often read as a lie, and in the case of national defense and 3,000 dead people, it's ultimately more important than who you slept with. Not to mention, there are probably some people out there who would like to see Bush/Cheney investigated by an independent council as unbiased as Ken Starr with regard to this matter. It makes sense for the white house to take precaution against Bush opening his mouth... especially on an election year.

What other sitting president has been called to testify in front of a body like that?

You read incorrectly. One was The Esch. The other poster is The Edine. Unless they're schitzophrenic and really part of Pierat's master alien conspiracy plan. :!:

-Melissa Actually, both quotes are directly from Edine's post. Oh the pun.... he answered his own question.

Edine said sitting president.
Of course, Clinton was dragged in front of an independent counsel for something that marginally effected his office (more had to do with his private business dealings), which wasted tax payer's money, and he was made to testify under oath....at which point he perjured himself.
Let Bush take the oath, see if he doesn't perjure himself.

Tsa`ah's shadow government has gotten a lot less believable. I mean, it's not like I've got tons of experience being world controller guy, but c'mon, man. People are going to get wise.
