Not sure about the Turbotax glitch, but they have some pretty substantial FAQ there you might want to give it a shot explaining your issue.

My guess is that your income pushed you over some threshold for certain deductions.

Your sister can file deductions if her work REQUIRES that she work from home. If she does it as a convenience thing or as a perk I don't think you can deduct it.

Then again the whole tax situation is nebulous and an aggressive CPA might take a shot at deducting it anyway. Good luck (I hate doing taxes)

Doesn't turbo tax ask who the head of the household is? If you are considered this person or you are filing jointly, this would effect your results. I'm not sure about Indiana, but Illinois has fucked up my social the three of the past three years. They eneded up owing me almost 1 grand this year because they never paid out or filed the correct info for the past three years.
