Fedor loses again. Anyone else watch this card?

Yeah, it was fucking terrible, last time I watch Strikeforce. I'd be surprise if any of those flabby bastards could make it out of the 2nd round. I think like 3 of the 8 actually looked any good. It was like a bunch of bar brawlers.

Only one fight goes to decision. Only 3 (?) others make it out of the first round. Arlovski loses (called it). Gus Johnson and Frank Shamrock continue to make a mockery of their profession. Fedor loses and announces tentative plans to retire. Scott Coker is a douche.

Yup, sounds like a Strikeforce event to me.

I have always been and will always be a Fedor fan. He's been amazing for the sport of MMA, but I think the sun has set for him. The competition he's faced over the past few years has been fairly weak. You can blame him for that or his team or his management or Affliction or Strikeforce or M-1 or the Russian mafia (lulz) or whatever. Rumors will circulate about his retirement, etc etc.

Regardless, he's an amazing fighter, and will go down as one of the best, if for nothing else than his reign in Pride (much like Wanderlei Silva).

Also, you heard it here first--Bigfoot's blood work will come back positive for steroids.

Too late:

After winning the vancant EliteXC Heavyweight Championship on the undercard of July's second CBS Saturday Night Fights show, Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva has tested positive for steroids, according to a release from the California State Athletic Commission.

“Reigning Elite XC World Heavyweight Champion Antonio Silva Jr., who last competed on July 26 in Stockton, has tested positive for Boldenone. Independent tests were conducted by Quest Diagnostics for the ‘A’ Sample and Laboratoire De Controle Du Dopage for the ‘B’ Sample. He has been suspended for one year retroactive to the conclusion of the bout and fined $2,500.”

Silva will be eligible for competition in July of 2009. No word yet on whether EliteXC will strip him of the title, though more will likely develop throughout the day.
