Is there a way to get go2 or something else to spit out the current room ID (the number associated with the room for go2)? Short of trying to ;go2 <something similar to the room> and picking it out of the list...

If you're using SF, uberbar creates a SF frame that constantly displays room number in addition to other stats such as health, mana, exp, stance, etc.

also, I threw a quick script up yesterday that will display the room number in the title bar whenever you change rooms/look/etc.

Large crates fill this room, most of them smashed and broken. Pieces of pottery, glass, splintered wood and odd metals are strewn about. Empty shelves line the walls, each with a small plaque on it. You also see a forest trali.

Sweet. I didn't realize that uberbar was spitting out the room number. I just glanced over it every single time. Bored at work reading through old threads FTW!

Uberbar is great to have, since it displays ROOMID.

Another good script to use with ID's is ;Show

;show RoomID will give you a description of the room pertaining to that ID

It's like a reversal in a sense

Only problem I've found with it is that sometimes it lags by a room.

For example, I could be in room XXX, then move to YYY... rnum shows XXX as the new room's ID, until I LOOK at the room.
